Amazing combo unit

This thing is amazing! We had a Samsung front load washer and dryer that were still in good shape, but needed something for our guest house where our two oldest boys live. We decided to give them what we had and get this combo unit because the reviews were so good. We were NOT disappointed!
I would like if the dry cycle got the clothes a little bit more dry in the default setting, but the More Dry button gives me clothes that are perfect when the cycle is done.
If you’re like us, and wind up washing a load of clothes two or three times because you keep forgetting to move them to the dryer, this is the unit for you! Now, I just slap the clothes in, start it, then come back later when they’re finished.
The auto dosing function for the detergent and fabric softener is awesome too! It just figures out how much clothes are in there, then adds what it needs to get everything clean and smelling fresh.
I decided I must be old now, because I really feel like this is the best purchase I’ve ever made. I’m not getting paid for this review and we bought the unit ourselves, so this is a fair review. We’ve only had it around a month, so I’ll update if anything changes, but so far, I wouldn’t dream of buying anything else again.

Wanted badly to love this but it just seems to have a lot of issues. YES it's great to not have to remember to switch over the laundry. YES it's awesome to have an electric ventless so it can be put anywhere in the house. But...
1- it rarely dries clothes all the way... you have to take them out immediately when the dry cycle finishes and shake them out to fully dry. This defeats the purpose of not needing to remember when the cycle will be done lol.
2- The lint trap is REALLY difficult to clean completely.
3- the water valve/drainage thing in the back needs monthly maintenance as small clothing can get stuck and back it up (socks, etc)
4- the time is WAY off on the cycles. It will say 28 minutes left and proceed to take literally 2+ hours

Your feedback is important to us and are sorry to hear that you’ve been less than impressed with some of the features on your Combo unit. We appreciate that you took the time to leave us this detailed review. We would like to help with some guidance Regarding your clothes not drying fully. If your clothes are still damp, we do recommend using the "More Dry" option when possible. Another important factor for both the wash and dry cycle, is making sure that your combo is connected to the network and that the most recent software update has been downloaded. Like a traditional dryer, you will not be able to clean 100% of the lint from your Combo. The Combo is designed and tested to ensure great drying performance, even if there is a considerable amount of lint buildup. We do suggest following the cleaning tips that’s included in the use and care manual (page 19) that is also found on the website. regarding the dry time. The load's moisture content (which is defined by the washer spin speed and the type of load), combined with the load size, the temperature selection and the house venting conditions determine the dryer cycle time. If we can help with anything else regarding your combo unit feel free to reach out to us on any of our social media pages. Dianna@GE Profile

Watch out for the lint filter

So the machine does a great job of washing and drying all by itself. In 2-3 hours you uave clean dry cloths. The maon problem is with the lint trap. Lint constantly gets by the filter and atarta blocking the coils on the heat pump. After a frlew months the dryer portion will stop working properly. Its a know issue. We ended up getting the lg washer combo that uses a different lint trap design. It also washes the coils out every load so it eliminates the issue the GE has.

There will be some lint just like on a regular dryer. Lint can still find its way past the filter, and it looks more evident or unusual to some consumers on our Combo due to the filter opening where you see our heat exchanger box. However, even when lint accumulates on the heat exchanger fins, be assured that it will not impact the great drying performance of our Combo.

We have had this washer dryer combo 1 year 1 month. This past month things have been breaking more often now that we are out of warranty. Even when this combo is working properly (fort the first 3 months) it doesn't dry clothes all the way and they always come out wrinkled. No matter the load size or if you pull clothes out immediately. I have to iron or stream nearly every item i wash. It would take you less time to just do things traditionally and switch things to the dryer yourself. Now it's not drying at all even though i clean the filter religiously. Which I've never had to do with a traditional dryer. Like i clean it with a vent brush and vacuum. Lucky for me i have a washer and dryer in my basement from the 80s that still runs so i can keep up with laundry until a repair person cones and changes me an arm and leg to fix it.

I love this all in one. It’s great for my back problems not having to transfer from washer to dryer. Takes about 3 hours to wash a heavy load I will say if you separate your clothes and do multiple loads of laundry, it may be beneficial to look at two separate units as it does drive a little slower than the traditional dryer, but it does dry well

I am a thorough researcher. I believe you get what you pay for. This is not an inexpensive washer and dryer, so I wanted to make sure it was the best all-in-one unit. I read hundreds of five star reviews on this washer dryer combo and was convinced that there wasn't a better unit available. We've had it now for about a month. In the first week we had it. My wife told me she did 17 loads of wash lol holy smokes! I'm not that ambitious, but I have to tell you I love the convenience of throwing my gym clothes in the washer and pulling them out ready to go. This is super helpful to me also, because I've had 11 knee surgeries, back, neck, and ankle surgery and the additional bending, transferring the wash to the dryer wasn't great. Filter is super easy to clear. Great capacity, king size comforters and sheets no problem. Does a really nice job cleaning too. 5/5. Best Buy was great to deal with also, easy delivery, good sale price and 24 month interest free financing on our Best Buy credit card. Always like to work with other peoples money.
Hope this helps!

This works perfectly for my husband and I. It is very convenient not to have to change over loads and we are saving on detergent with the auto dispense option. Drying does take a little longer than a typical vented unit, but it still uses less energy!

Tried Competing Unit from LG - This one the Best

So I have a whole story here. I got one of these becasue I live in a space confined condo. It worked like a champ. Most loads are 2-3 hours - even with a ton of towels and other stuff. Then the LG came out with a similar product and because the brand is sexier, and it's 9 inches shorter for more space savings I tried that.
This one is just much more reliable than the LG. LG has a more compact unit and the software is slicker but I may have had a dud. It would not dry.
I LOVE the GE unit, I feel bad for straying to the sexier unit and not sticking with what was working well. I'd love for GE to reduce the height in the next versiuon and add some bells and whistles like LG has in the software. Other than that- it's perfection.

Haven’t had this that long but I absolutely love it. I love not having to switch clothes into a dryer, I love the auto detergent dispenser, it holds a lotttt of liquid. Pretty heavy but still compact and fit into my closet space. Clothes have come out dry mostly every time if it needs a little extra time just press “more dry” its simple. Highly recommend.

This washer is the coolest appliance I’ve ever purchased, It has a very large drum. It automatically transitions to the correct drying cycle after the wash is done. The controls are high and easy to use. The detergent and fabric dispenser holds up 32 loads and sends a notification to your phone when it needs to be refilled.

The product works great. Drys just fine with standard 110 electrical outlet and no need for a vent. Just hook up water hoses, plug it into an electrical outlet, and go. It takes a little longer than other machines to dry, but acceptable. Nice to not have to move washed clothes to a dryer - already there. We were a bit disappointed with Best Buy installation though. It is a very heavy machine (about 300 lbs), so professional delivery is needed. They got it into the room ok, which was good, but they refused to hook the machine up saying the water faucets needed to be replaced. They did not even hook the hoses to the machine. We just cleaned off the faucets ourselves later, easily put on the hoses, and plugged it in. Faucets are fine. There are no leaks. It was easy to do, and it works great. Seems odd that the included installation did not happen. They did not even try. Not a huge thing, but maybe don't expect the included installation unless faucets are pristine.

While the concept of this machine is intriguing, it has not been a reliable laundry appliance for us. We are constantly maintaining it, and yet have had 4 service calls in less than 20 months of owning it. The water pump had to be replaced, the drying mechanism was also replaced, and their was a lint issue which caused them to come out another time and completely tear the machine apart to properly fix it ( it takes 2 service techs to do it). Now our motor needs replaced, along with some other components. Very disappointing. We are scrapping it altogether and currently reading reviews for reliable laundry appliances to replace it.

Absolutely amazing- I did a lot of research and video watching before my purchase and felt well informed. It was truly a great purchase for me and my family- to avoid having to wait up to switch the laundry at night and to start a load before work and come home to it dry is worth every penny.

This washer/dryer combo works like a dream! I was one of those people who ended up re-washing clothes because I would forget to transfer them to the dryer. No more! Easy to use, very intuitive, and it gets every bit of pet hair off of our clothes! Electric bill went down, too! Takes 2-2 1/2 hours to complete wash/dry cycle.

The combo unit is a nice idea and gets clothes clean, however the drying options include damp and wrinkled, or dry and wrinkled. Sometimes (2/10) I will actually get clothes that are dry enough and don’t have wrinkles. I’ve tried small, medium and large loads as well as keeping heavier fabrics in separate loads away from lighter fabrics. It’s a craps shoot that end up nullifying any time benefit from having to move a load over traditionally. The unit also randomly leaked all over my laundry room on more than one occasion. I check the lines, drain pipe, filter, etc and nothing is clogged. Then is works normally (which results in wrinkled clothes). I would suggest waiting until there is competition and the combo unit market has matured a bit before purchasing. I’d return it and buy a nicer separate set, however I’m unfortunately past the time period (it’s only been 3.5 months) even as a Best Buy TotalTech member. The capacity and dry time ratings would be great if a) you didn’t have to run smaller loads in an effort to get past the wrinkled results and b) you didn’t have to run the dewrinkle program multiple times to get the wrinkles out, if it works at all (yes, I’ve stood next to machine waiting for it to end so I could get the clothes within seconds of the cycle end).
Bottom line: you’ll spend more time running multiple dewrinkle cycles and/or ironing/steaming your clothes on top of the longer cycle times the product has. Save your money and buy a classic set.

Connecting to the SmartHQ app is highly recommended; this ensures that your software is always up to date. These software updates can optimize your Combo's performance and address potential issues. In addition to Dewrinkle, the Combo offers a Wrinkle Care option. When selected, Wrinkle Care will tumble intermittently for up to 8 hours making the clothes less prone to wrinkling. For more information, check out the Support article we offer on our website titled: GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Clothes Getting Wrinkled".

I recently purchased the GE washer dryer combo, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! it saves space in my laundry room, but it also delivers exceptional cleaning and drying results. The energy efficiency is a huge plus, helping me save on utility bills without compromising on performance. Overall, I highly recommend this combo for anyone looking for convenience, efficiency, and top-notch laundry results. I gave it only four stars because it is louder than I thought it would be.

So far, so good! I love that it connects with my phone with notifications on when the laundry is done, and it's really nice being able to just set everything and forget about it, with clean laundry 1:45-2:30 later, depending on what settings you choose. I have found I usually need to use the "More Dry" setting to get the clothes fully dry, which adds about 20ish minutes to the cycle. Make sure you clean the filter between every load--the machine itself will remind you to do this if it senses the filter is getting full, but I didn't realize at first that the filter comes fully out of the machine, so there was part of it I wasn't fully cleaning. But so far, I'm thrilled, and looking forward to the energy savings and reclaiming the closet the old units were taking up.
