Purchased to replace my kitchen switch - together with the main switch, this add-on gets the job done. Using with a Samsung SmartThings hub and Google assistant integration.

These are "add on" switches. Keep that in mind when purchasing.

Hi Smarple, thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE Smart Lighting Control In-Wall Add-On Switch. We are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience. Our mission is to provide complete customer satisfaction and quality products that deliver the expected performance. We would love to work with you directly to resolve the issue, so you can enjoy our products to their full potential.
Unfortunately it appears that an add-on switch was installed instead of the primary. As described in our product listing, this product requires a GE In-Wall Smart Switch for 3 and 4 way installations. This is because this unit does not have a wireless radio and cannot work by itself. The Smart Switch will allow you to wirelessly control and schedule lights and other devices with your Amazon Echo along with a hub like SmartThings, Wink, or Iris, to name a few. As the manufacturer, it is our goal to provide the customer with optimal satisfaction so our viewers reflect the best feedback possible in our Support Team and the product itself and alleviate misinformation. Once you determine that the issue is not with our product, we would appreciate your feedback and update at that time.
If you have any other questions, please contact our Support Team at 1-800-654-8483, press option 2 and provide them with your personal ticket number 277590. You can also email us at support@byjasco.com and include your personal ticket number in the subject line

I've installed a bunch of these across our house as a replacement for 3-way switches, and they work incredibly well. It requires you to have a hub (I've used SmartThings) for the initial switch. But this has worked great as the power used is low compared with units that don't need a hub, and all the units have lasted over a year with no issue. In comparison, our Leviton with add-on runs warm/hot and needs to be re-added to our network every month or two. The thing that is mentioned is the need for a neutral line. They definitely need this is a neutral line. I tried using the ground, but it didn't work. In one installation, I needed to run a separate neutral when the box didn't have one. Once that was done though it's easy. All you need on this box is the red traveler, ground, and the neutral line. The load and other traveler (if they're in the box) get connected to each-other to power the circuit. I couldn't be happier with this unit.

This is a great little add on switch to go with the master switch. The set up is easy if you have a neutral wire already in your wall where you are wiring the switch. I have had some little issue using with the google home where they don't talk to each other. But I think that more on google switch. All in all its what you need if you have the master switch and a 3 or 4 pole connection.

Several of the reviews for this switch are not for the add-on, but for the full smart switch. THIS IS THE ADD-ON SWITCH! It has no smart capabilities itself, but it allows you to use a smart Z-wave or Zigbee GE switch in a 3-way switching environment. With that clarification out of the way, the add-on switch does exactly what you'd want it to do. The install is easy, and the switch is compatible with both the Z-Wave and Zigbee models of GE's smart switches (On/Off, Dimmer and Fan Control). Unlike the full models, the add-on only features terminals for the Neutral, Traveler and Ground wires. The rocker paddle stays in a neutral position, and hitting the top or bottom of the paddle toggles the connected smart outlet to perform as programmed.

While the single in-wall switch and dimmers work fine with Comcast Xfinity the add-ons don't. I have a single dimmer installed and it works fine. I tried another light with 3-way switches and I got them wired fine and working manually and the touchscreen sees it but when it starts paring it comes up with an "Unsupported device" message.
