Purchase a GE Profile Microwave Oven/Hood for a kitchen remodel. The oven was professionally installed on 7/3/2009. Came home on 9/2/10, 14 months later and the oven was beeping. Touch pad was readying, (Service may be required - control Pad Shorted Out) found it interesting that the the product diagnosed itself. Anyway, don't believe in extended warranties. When I purchase an appliance, I would expect it to last at least 5 years. 10 years would be the expected life expectancy. Unfortunately they don't make appliances like that use too. I am very disappointed, NO MORE G.E. for me. Unfortunately this oven was purchased during a kitchen remodel, purchase 3 other GE appliances. Fingers crossed they last longer than a year.

I read the reviews and they were not glowing, so I though nah, I used GE all my life, my mom and dad used GE.. so this cant be that bad? WELL GUESS WHAT ? Its been less than 2 months and the outside plastic is still on it and it STOPPED working when I went to reheat a plate of Easter Dinner and nothing. Mind you I live a lone since my only teen went off to college last year. I must say this is not a good product. From all I read before I bougth I should have listened..!! UGH.. please tread lightly.. GOOD LUCK if you choose to order it.. Yeah its has loud noises to run yeah the door is wonky but it was a good price and its just me using it.. still only lasted 2 months UGH

At 27 months old I have lost 8 of the touch pads, some of which are dearly missed. It all started just after warranty ran out. GE says to see a repairman. Probably cost more to fix. I feel it should've lasted at least 5 years or more. That's not quality in my book. Will definitly but another brand next time around, thanks for the help GE.

This micorwave broke 6 days after I had it installed. Infact, it stopped running Christmas afternoon when we were preparing our feast! Ge came out within a week to fix it, only to find one day later the unit is running extremly loud. Looks like we have to call GE once again!

replaced old microwave GE with this model. not as fancy as our old one which had a volume adjuster so you could mute the beeping noise...if little ones were sleeping. prev model lasted 11 years which i was told is a long time for products "now a days". too soon to know how long will last but to date good product!

Just over one year old, and it stopped heating. Spent $91 on a service call to find out it would cost about $200 to fix. Junk all the way. Stay away from GE products; it is definately my last.

I bought this microwave 2 years ago and never had any issues with it. It is very spacious and has an oven rack, which allows to heat up 2 plates simultaneously. The heating time is great unlike some microwaves that take a very long time to make the meal warm. After using this every day for over 2 years now, I would recommend this product.

Our GE SpaceSaver Microwave was designed so you have to call a repairman to change the bulbs. The covers open away from you, the bulbs are screwed in backwards and they are sealed in, hence the instructions, "break the seal and gently turn the bulb" mean, break the bulb, spend an hour trying to remove the base, go blind trying to see what you are doing while leaning backwards over the regular oven, then call the repairman, wait 2 weeks for the bulbs to come in, wait an extra 4 hours for the repairman to arrive and then pay them $145! Guess what brand of any appliance is no longer in my consideration set?

You must order the charcoal filter from someone since it is not included. Only used if you vent back into the kitchen.

I never had any problems with this microwave and I find it very spacious to use. I often heat up two dishes at the same time and both heat up well and fast. My kitchen does not have a hole in the wall that would allow the ventilation to go outside, but the ventilation surprisingly works great when it blows the air back into the kitchen.

My last GE lasted nearly 10 years so we wanted to buy another one. We have been really happy with this replacement. My husband & I installed it ourselves over the range. Best Buy even matched their own sale offer within a week of us purchasing it.

My house is located 50 miles from the store. All the hardware was missing plus the appliance manager insured me that everything was in the box even though it looked like it had been opened before my purchase. And you call this service? Another 100 miles round-trip to the store was not feasible. I found sufficient hardware and improvised as needed to get the unit mounted and operational. Not a happy camper with Best Buy,

Replaced a 13 year old GE with this one. The fan is soooooo loud. I would never recommend this unit.

I installed it and tried it out. All that work installing it and the microwave doesn't work. The light goes on and it sounds like its working but the turntable doesn't spin and it doesn't cook or heat the food. Now I have to take it down and bring it back to Best Buy. The next one will not be a GE.

We have had ours for just over 16 months, and when the turntable kept moving after it finished cooking, then things go worst, the fan came on and couldn't shut it off, the light came on and couldn't shut it off other than pulling the power cord out and repluging it back in, then you had to reset the clock. Good grief. I have tried to get an answer but no one has contacted us, and at this point in time, I will not purchase another product again with GE on the label. what a piece of junk.

control panel went out within 1.5yrs. half the buttons on the control panel went out. air vent fan quit working

Well we bought 2 ge appliances when we upgraded our kitchen - not happy w/the product - will never guy ge again. Cost to fix versus cost to replace about the same. Will get frigidaire brand which has held up well for us - we replaced our refrig and microwave w/GE - waiting on the refrig to die now... bought frigidaire brand on new oven & dishwasher - they are 6 months older and have held up very well - very pleased w/them. My previous microwave I bought from Wal-mart 15 years ago worked fine - sad isn't it you DON'T GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR with GE brands...... Sad just sad... Buy another brand!!

Purchased this micro less than 2 years ago. Just stopped heating up for no reason, called a repair person and was told it would cost just as must to purchase a new one. Like another reviewer i alread equipt our new kitchen with stainless GE products. Won't purchase anymore of their products unless they replace it, which ive been on hold waiting for a costomer service person for 25 mins so far

Micro Wave worked fine for a year and a half then the time cook button didn't work , a couple of days later the 5 7 8 9 0 buttons stopped working now all the buttons except for the fan and light stopped working. I called the parts hotline and they wan't $169 for the key pad plus another $21 for shipping, I only paid $199 for the micro wave new. I wen't with GE because of the name , not anymore , i will read more reviews before choosing a product
