This is a great unit that is perfect for my space requirements. I bought it to replace a Frigidare I had just purchased. After only a month of trying to deal with all the non-user friendly issues with the Frigidare, I decided to go with this machine and see how it did. It's a thousand percent improvement! Large washing capacity and you can choose your water level. The dryer handles a large load and does a good job of drying in an acceptable amount of time. Again you decide how much time is needed for drying the things in the load. The only reason I was a little hesitant to buy was the plastic tub in the washer...I talked with a repair man about it and he said that he had not seen anymore problems with plastic tubs vs metal tubs. All in all I love this machine so far (I've only had it a month). Also Best Buy is great to deal with...I was able to return the Frigidare unit with no problems/issues and even saved a little money. Thanks for great customer service Best Buy!

Bought the GE GUD27ESSJWW April 2016 - very disappointed. Owned a Maytag stackable washer/dryer for 30 years - loved it - no issues - did a great job.  I read online reviews before buying this unit - most were good.  However, my repairman warned me - most washers/dryers are cheaply made now and no good ones out there. He advised me to buy the extended warranty for this unit because I would definitely need it!  It doesn't fill with enough water to even cover clothes - instruction book actually shows this is normal - pictures of the water level well below the level of clothes.  Opening the lid after several minutes shows clothes on top barely wet - and it barely agitates, clothes barely move. So I do smaller loads, x-large water level - still have to manually add a gallon or so of water (repair man said OK to do this.) This "water-saving" feature not good if the clothes barely get wet!  Husband's work clothes have to be washed twice. Stupid temperature settings - hot & warm fine, but "colors", "cool", "cold", and "tap cold" are all same - COLD. Really? Wash cycle takes a looong time, the spin cycle goes on and on and on and on - it is spin crazy! The clothes get so wrinkled if not taken out right away. Washer lid must be left open when not in use to prevent musty smell.  Even when empty, moving the tub around causes water swishing somewhere inside - told by the store that this is "normal".  Clothes were not rinsed well and advised by the store to always choose "deep rinse" which is supposed to only be for when adding liquid fabric softener (I don't use.)  The "Quick Rinse" cycle fills up with water then immediately spins it out. Then fills again and spins again w/o even swishing around. Really?  There is no "soak" cycle"  - I just have to lift the lid to stop it, go back later to close/restart. Dry sensor on dryer not good - even with barely damp clothes it goes on and on - eventually stops but clothes are dry if I check them before. No buzzer to let me know when dryer stops - just have to find my wrinkled clothes later.

I purchased this unit less than two weeks ago and am deciding whether or not to return it, since the deadline is tomorrow. It is VERY noisy. I had a plumber who was doing some other work at my townhouse look at it, and he was surprised at the noise level. Geek Squad came out this week and the technicians said that these machines were very loud. No problems with the dryer; it's the washing machine that makes lots of noise. Like many other reviewers, I was limited in terms of machines for my space. Wish I had spent the extra money and bought the stackable Bosch washer and dryer.

Dryer leaves marks on clothes, cannot get repaired

I am very upset with GE and Best Buy, because I had service man out here five times to try and fixed this washer, and it is still not working. Please don't waste your money on this washer and dryer unit. I am not happy with it or the services warranty. No one should have services five time on an new unit, and it still not working. I had it replace two times and the problems still exists. Washer on this unit will not wash your clothes, they come out smelling worse than they did before you put them in, plus the stains are still there. This old technicians guy is grumpy and mean as hell. He will not turn on the washer at all. He said his computer said the washer in fine. This has been nightmare. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT, IT 'S NOT WORTH HEADACHE.

In the 5 months we have had this laundry center, the drum has been replaced after 3 weeks of use and now the motor is being replaced. Have been waiting almost 2 weeks for the repairman to come back with the part. Even when it was operating, the washer sounded like a thrashing machine, no way to wash clothes during what should be quiet time. People who say this machine is quiet must have it installed in the garage or a washroom located away from their living quarters. In a mobile home it is impossible to not notice the noise. Of course GE will not replace and it is outside the return period for Best Buy. No wonder they all sell extended warranties, a must for this machine.
