    The Geek Squad Comes to the Rescue!

    My wife's PC had a malicious virus telling her that Microsoft had detected a link to a rogue web site on her PC and she should call the number listed to get it cleared. We knew it was a scam, and I tried but couldn't get it removed. So we took it to the Geek Squad and they removed it and also installed a much better anti-virus software. A very good ensing to a very bad problem!

    Computer repair

    we had 3 computers repaired. Very happy with the service on them, BUT, not happy that they set us up with a appointment to pick them up and we drove 1 hour each way and when we arrived, we were told they were not dont. No one called to tell us this and we had to make a return trip to pick them up 4 days later..Living on a social security budget, this was not appreciated.

    Staff helped restore my computer configuation

    After my 92 year old mother's computer hard drive failed, Geek Squad installed a new hard drive and Windows 10 operating system. I needed to restore Windows 7 because she cannot use Windows 10. The staff helped me find the online site where I could purchase Windows 7. It did take several trips to the store, but I now have a computer that my mother can continue to use.

    Geek Squad took my computer in at 11:00 am on 12/19/17 due to some function issues i was having and said it could take up to three days to get it back depending on the issues they find. Geek Squad called me that night at approximately 6:15 pm to inform me that my computer was done and ready for pick up, Thank you Geek Squad for a fast,friendly and professional experience.

    Fine basic computer

    For my purposes, this is fine. Great size screen... major difficulty is that the touch pad seems to automatically resize the screen view (100% to 30%) without warning. Once I figured out why and how, it was still very very difficult to keep the resizing from happening. Otherwise, it's a fine computer. My recommendation is based on the idea that a friend is looking for a solid, basic computer, no bells and whistles.

    I don’t have a problem with BestBuy itself just with the GeekSquad of this location. Get ready for a ride... I went in store with my computer failing, they told me it might be an issue with the hard drive and would need to replace it. They sold me on a backup, a $200-1 year plan maintenance where supposedly “everything” was included. They even charged me taxes for a free antivirus, and said they will have it up and running in 2 to 5 business days the most. I worked with that computer so I was very eager to get it back. The next day I called and they told me they had done a diagnosis and that indeed the hard drive failed and that they needed to replace it for another, and it will take up to 3 weeks (keep in mind that I had already payed around $400 to get it fixed). I didn’t want to spend any more money so I asked if I could get a refund on the 1-year plan because of the misunderstanding and still pay for the work done on the backup. He said yes and I told him I will call the next day. When I phoned the new guy told me a refund was imposible because they had already done some work on the computer, when in truth they only ran a diagnosis to see what the problem was. I spoke with the manager and he said it was a problem of he said-she said and that I didn’t have a valid claim so there was nothing he could do, he offered a discount on the hard drive prize and said they could have it done by the next day. I took the discount and bought the hard drive, I wanted to get over it and get back my computer asap so I could keep working. Fast forward 2 days after I got my computer back it still freezes!!!!!! Employees are very bad trained on the company’s policies and services. Be careful on the plans they sell you on and read every piece of information regardless what the employees tell you.

    The technician was able to figure out that my computer had been hacked and taken control of the operating system and my information. They kept it for 5 days while they wiped it clean and reloaded my programs and installed Webroot Security so what happened to take me to the store for help doesn't happen again! My machine is running great and I've had no additional issues,

    geek squad is a great team to have on your side. but I recently had a issue with signal strength &connectivity. the geeks told me they would need to send out a tech. could not fix over phone . tech service is 99.99 I do have there 24/7 protect. not cover .I called my provider and they told me what needed to be fix. no charge. if it needs fix call the geeks but first check with your provider & save a charge 1st.

    Crew was attentive, timely, effective in getting my computer running again, but now I'm still getting error messages that Windows Updates cannot download no matter how many times I try to do so. The auto updates are not always working either. Otherwise, I am satisfied with the work done and appreciate this 24/7 coverage, but I live 45 miles away from the store, so it's not super easy to go back and forth.

    It’s great to be able to talk to “Experts” after a purchase. We’re “senior citizens “. Once we start using a product like this, we’re bound to have more questions. We’ve returned to the store twice so-far, for help in setting the laptop up to suite us. They’ve been helpful and explained slowly enough for us to continue getting acquainted with the laptop.

    I was really surprised to be able to get a "reservation" with the Geek Squad when I needed it. I really expected to have to wait a day or two. I got the "reservation" the same day that I called. And I was really surprised to learn that my computer was "healed" the same day and was ready to be picked up. I really thought I'd have to take it to the Apple Store.

    My experience with the Geek telephone support has been so good that I went back and purchased the 3-year package. I am not as technical as some other people -- the Geek people have helped me so much. They are very nice, diligent and thorough. Sometimes you do have to wait, but it hasn't been too long. I am more than satisfied, I am relieve and grateful.

    good for smart phone virgins

    Very inexpensive, cheap plan available. Never used a smart phone before and am quickly becoming accustomed to it. We are refugees from the Wine Country wildfires and needed instant information about where we could stay, eat, shop, and to contact family and neighbors. When we are more comfortable with it, we will upgrade to a fancier item. For now it's great!

    Had the opportunity to use the Geek Squad in another store location... Awesome experience! Was treated with dignity and respect. They helped resolve my computer issues. Spoke to me in a language that I understood. Never made me feel unwelcome. Took care of the issues. I'm thankful for the Geek Squad. I would recommend Geek Squad for computer problems.

    On May 2nd, my hard drive was in trouble. Microsoft Office had to be replaced. There was a problem trying to get my emails. The geeks worked for three day (!!!!) and finally were able to retrieve my password. What a relief. Yesterday, 5/24, I had a problem with my HD printer. Within 20 minutes I was back to printing. Great job. Connie (Gunsch)

    So I purchased the service plan so they could look at and fix my husband's computer, that was not purchased through best buy. I didn't expect the full service we got. Not only did they work on the computer and fix It,but when I bought him a new video card they installed it no charge! by buying the plan both my daughter and my computers are covered too!

    joined the geeeeeeek club and explained my slow sputtering problems. Left the unit there and a few days later when I got it back it was super fast and also updated with the latest windows 10 an update just came out like 3 davys before. and Love it cant wait to take my others in to get realigned and readjusted super job. We love the Geek Squad.

    We had our old computer memory and software loaded onto a new computer, along with additional apps e.g. MS Office and security. They did a nice job - it doesn't appear any files were lost. When we found a mistake with the Virus protection not being loaded, they were quick to fix the problem and get things going. Nice crew in the Duluth Store :)

    I had quite a few back and forths with my old computer before they could figure out what was wrong. Each time the service tech was extremely polite and professional. When we finally did figure it out they went out of their way to make sure I didn't have to wait any longer to get everything fixed. They went above and beyond. Thanks!

    everyone is so helpful and don't make me feel dumb esp Susan and Zack -not sure if I have name correct_ but I miss the days when I could just walk in and if someone was available they would help it is difficult to make an appt when my computer that I would use to contact you is not working and can't get anyone on the phone
