Absolute WASTE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so the review starts with me scheduling an appointment to have the installation preformed. the man on the phone seemed less than interested in even speaking to me, and absolutely unthrilled about the job. i explained that i have a cadilac el dorado for 1987 and he acted like that was fine and the process would go smoothly. i came to the store 3 days later to pick out my sterio head. there were 5 on display in my price range and only the suckiest one was in stock, so i reluctanly chose it. i was guided to the room where the geek squad agent told me the pricing which ended up being an additional $40.00 more than what was discussed on the phone. once again i reluctantly obliged and gave him the keyes., HERES THE WORST PART! i was told over the phone that it be 45ish minutes, by the time i received my call that my car was done it had been 1.5 hours. i came in to find he hadn't done a thing!!!!!! he told me my car had a "symphony sound wiring" as most cadis do and it would cost 250-300 bucks to re wire the car to make it compatible. this is the same guy that said a Cadillac wouldn't be a problem!!! i could have told the fool it had "symphony sound" its written on the ***** stock radio for Christs sake. i want o know what the hell he was doing for an hour and a half . i mean wouldn't it have made sense to call ten minutes later and explain the installation wouldn't work????

Awesome Job!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my head unit, 2 amplifiers and 4 speakers (2 for the front doors and 2 for the rear deck) and a subwoofer installed at the Yonkers Best Buy store. I was very impressed with the results of the installation; very clean and unique set up and they also tuned my system to its finest sound! At first I was very skeptical about replacing my factory stereo system with an aftermarket mainly due to the car's electrical system. They also did an excellent job with the walkthrough; they showed me how to use my new head unit and all the great features. I have to say that after dealing with the Geek Squad in Yonkers I'm no longer skeptic, I will definitely go back to them in the future. Overall they did an awesome job! Thank you very much for your services, keep up the great work!

Very knowledgeable, careful, and efficient team
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Time is money, and though I am perfectly capable of installing a car stereo myself, I had heard that GeekSquad does a better job than most and that their service is priced competitively for the quality of service delivered. I "interviewed" the installation crew first to make sure I could be confident of quality service, and they did not disappoint. It would be easy to do a hack job of replacing a manufacturer's care stereo with an after-market unit, but these guys really made sure that any issues with the overall setup would function better than before the car deck was replaced (speaker wiring, antenna, etc.). These are very knowledgeable people -- they know every car model intimately, and this saves time, ending up in labour savings for the customer.

Great installation! Amazing results.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought in my own deck, and supplies, and had them install my new alpine CDA-105. It took a little over an hour, and when I came back it cost me 75 bucks, because he had to take my dash apart and install a new dash kit because the subaru outback 2008 has a very difficult dash. I got in my car and it was amazing! Sounds great, looks great! amazing service! Wouldn't have been able to do it myself! Highly recommended.

Expert install w/ customer provided deck/speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was going to install everything myself but decided at the last moment against "messing" with my new car dash electronics and door panel removal. However, I did put the rear deck speakers in - 2 JL Audio 6" coax VR series high power. ---asked techs to install items I provided - older top of line Alpine 9835 deck and 2 new JL audio speakers (for the front door) in 2010 Honda Civic EXL 4 door sedan. They were given a custom deck kit, wiring harnesses, plug adapters, and speaker holders. During the install, they showed me an alternate way to provide high power to the deck that avoided a battery through firewall connection and saved me $$$. In the end, Install looks AND most importantly sounds WONDERFUL! thanks!!!

Great Installation, Wonderful Technicians!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took my car in to have a subwoofer/amp installed and the technician discovered after the installation that the sub didn't work properly. He promptly apologized as he bench tested the unit but didn't catch the issue. He immediately refunded half of the installation charge and even mentioned to come back when I get the new sub (RMA'd) and he'll install it for no charge. This is incredible customer service. I know some folks have complained that the prices of the products and/or labor is a little high - it's worth every penny for a professional job and high level of service. I will only get my car audio installations/equipment from Best Buy as a result of a positive customer service experience. Thank you!

Good enough
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had BB install a head unit in my 2005 Jetta. They were accommodating, but lack that "extra mile" service you come to expect. Yes, they did install the head unit, but to charge me another $20 just to run an INCLUDED iPod cable was simply over the top. Needless to say, the installer did not charge me.

You don't get what you pay for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I bought the car stereo/cd player for my son's car I also bought the $50 geek squad installation certificate. The description said it was good for car stereo installation. I made an appointment and the earliest they had was one week away. I took it because I paid for the installation already. The day before I was to take the car in we got a call from Best Buy and they said they guy who can do a VW Jetta took the tools home and he wouldn't be back until the following Monday. I again agreed since I had already bought the installation coupon. The day finally arrived to have my son's stereo put in and I sent my son, the stereo and his certificate to Best Buy to get the work done. When my son got there they said it would be an extra $30 for mounts so my son paid that. When he came back to pick the car up in an hour they told him it would cost an additional $50 for plastics around the radio. So instead of the easy $50 Best Buy installation, I got a pain in the butt $130 installation. This is after I used Best Buys program to determine which radio would fit in the car. The radio works fine but I won't go through them again.

Quick radio installation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought the installation was quick and the techs were very efficient. For $49 I didn't think I could get a better price. However, when I arrived, they were quick to add on $51 more dollars for required parts to install the car radio.

Inadequate Knowledge.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought in the following components - Pioneer DEH-3300UB CD receiver - Rockford Fosgate Prime R1653 6-3/4" 3-way Car Speakers - Polk Audio db 461p 4"x6" Plate 2-way Speakers - Sound Ordnance M4050 50W x 4 Car Amplifier in to the Best Buy in Killeen for installation. I was reasonably satisfied with the timeliness of the installation. However, the next day, I tested the system and found that the system would not fade front to rear, and the left/right balance was reversed. I brought the vehicle back for an explanation and corrective action. The explanation given for the fader issue was that the deck had only one set of pre-amp outputs. While this is correct, reading the literature would have provided the correct guidance on how to properly wire the system to obtain correct fader performance. The technician did correct the balance issue; I corrected the fader issue by properly wiring the unit, at additional time and expense. This was the first experience I had with Best Buy installation services, as I normally do my own installations, and as a result of this experience, It will be my last. I felt that this installation, at a cost to me of over $400.00, should have been completely trouble free, and it was not. Buyer beware.

Super technician
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Caleb is an outstanding representative of Best Buy. We're now sold on the store. He answered my husband's questions and talked to us for most of the installation period while still busily working on our car stereo. He had told us the job would take an hour and a half, but it only took an hour. Because of Caleb's graciousness, it only seemed like 30 minutes! He led me through the store to pay for the extended warranty he sold me and back to the shop. My husband is going to buy another car stereo and I am going to buy the lifetime map update for my Garmin GPS. Great people, great store, great prices!

Well done installation services
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had many different installs done on my cars ranging from speakers to a few decks, all were done pretty fast and only once did I have to come back for an order to better color match the faceplate to the rest of my car. And right there is the only downside, the faceplate, it's NOT incluided in the price. Generally it costs about 20 dollars, and in fact my last deck install ran me slightly over 100 dollars. There are a few other little cost additions not included in the base price that kinda surprise you when they ring it up after everything is installed. Just remember to bring a few extra bucks...

A+ job
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a new Sony stereo/CD player for my car at the Roseville Galleria location. Jesse was friendly and very helpful while I decided on a system as I know nothing about them. He did not steer me to the most expensive one either. He assisted me to buy the one which met my needs best. Then Jesse and another installer Steve did a fantastic job of installing the system and speakers. It fits in my car as if it came that way and sounds great. They go above and beyond to insure customer satisfaction. Friendly, fast, professional job at a fair price--what more could you ask for?

04 Pontiac Grand Prix issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a JVC car deck installed and starting having issues with the dash gauges going out while you were driving and them come back on after you restarted the car, and the data center in the dash would not hold the correct date. They moved the factory deck in the trunk and wired it so the date would hold in the data center in the dash but still had issues with the gauges and also the clock on the deck itself would change to a random time from time to time. I've taken the vehicle in several times and still no answers for it so I had it removed if anyone has found any solutions to this problem please share. I was pleased with the installations and customer service just unclear why this car has issues with aftermarket decks?

Find a reputable local place!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Kenwood stereo at Best Buy thinking it would be easier to buy what I needed and get the installation done at the same place. They did not have the harness package or dash kit that they said I needed but they gave me the part numbers so I could order them online. When I got the parts I called to make an appointment. I had seen an ad that specified 30 minutes for installation and when I made my appointment I was told probably 45, so I planned on an hour to be safe. I arrived 10 minutes early and was told "OK, I'll give you call when it's done." 2 hours later I thought maybe he'd forgotten to call so I went back and found the same truck in the bay that had been there when I dropped off my car, and the "geek" standing at the counter chatting with a friend. Needless to say, mine hadn't been touched but he said he was just getting ready to pull my car in. I was very angry, but decided since I was there and my afternoon plans were already ruined, I'd wait another 30-45 minutes. An hour and a half later, I went back seething and he was still working on it, and said it would be done in another 10 minutes. I stood right there while he finished it, and then he told me it took longer because the dash kit didn't fit my car, although it was the one they told me to order, and he'd had to cut the original dash insert. I think I should have gotten a phone call before he went ahead and did that too. My blood is still boiling as I write this 2 days later, and is exacerbated due to the fact that he just kept making excuses and never once said "I'm sorry". If he had made any mention of being behind when I dropped off my car, I may have either had someone pick me up or changed my appointment, not spent 3 1/2 hours sitting in the mall food court waiting. When I returned the first time it was "Yeah, the truck took longer than I thought. It is Saturday and I'm the only one here so I'm way behind." Then when I returned the 2nd time it was my fault my car took longer than expected because I'd bought the wrong dash kit (again, they gave me the part number to order) and he'd had to cut the original. The stereo looks ok (the frame is a little loose where he cut it) and sounds great, but he definitely was not a professional and I would not recommend them to anyone!

Best Installation Services
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used the BestBuy Installation services on several occasions at the Shreveport Store, over the past year. I have had a new JVC Deck, XM Radio INNO installed in my personal vehicle and moved my INNO to several different vehicles. Ken (Staff Installer) has always been friendly and helpful. He has answered all my questions and guided me in my purchases and each one has been a winner as far as I am concerned. Ken's work is fast, neat, and always comes out looking and sounding great. I won't use anyone else for my audio installation.
