I bought this as a replacement for an identical model that has lasted nearly five years. I was researching which new model to try, after the former unit's print head failed, and reviews of the new, updated models seemed a bit disappointing. It finally occurred to me that the MX922 was still available, and was already installed and proven on my computer. It could be a bit more compact, a bit quieter, and considerably faster, but the photo printing quality is outstanding, and as I mentioned, the previous one lasted much longer than what most people seem to expect (around two to three years.) I have used both Canon brand ink cartridges, and aftermarket in my old unit, and those aftermarket versions are now extremely cheap. I found mine through e-bay, as a direct Best Buy purchase, with free shipping. The price matched Amazon's, and the shipping was faster. Win-win!
