Will not stay connected to wifi. Slow . Dosen't work as it should.

The doorbell itself seems pretty decent. But it's the app that I've got a problem with. So far all I can get it to do is give me a standard notification. In other words there is no special interface that starts up when someone rings the bell. But it does let me know when someone is ringing or even that it detects motion when you set it that way. But without popping up a special screen or ringing a certain way, it's easy to miss the call altogether. However I did set mine to a special notification sounds to help. What gets me is that at one point I did see a special screen come up- almost like getting a phone call. But I haven't seen that again. And it only happened when I had the app up on my Android phone. And I tested this on an iPhone as well. The nice thing is you can add an SD card to capture motion. And it will record the two way conversation. The competition all seem to have subscription services. Oh, and like others I've heard about, the WiFi range is terrible. But all in all, I really like the camera. I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone quite yet. Especially at this price ☹️

The Geeni Doorscreen has its pros and its cons, but mostly pros. It's relatively easy to configure, it's video is clear (especially for just being 720p), audio at the doorbell is loud but somewhat distorted from compression, and it's narrow so placement isn't as big of an issue as with other brands of video doorbell. It also records locally to microSD cards (mine has a 128GB card in it) instead of to the cloud, like most other video doorbells. Setup is really straight-forward; you'll need an existing mechanical doorbell with either a 16 or 24 volt power supply rated for 10VA minimum. you may need to bypass your current doorbell's chime circuit, especially with a classic mechanical chime (Nu-Tone and Rittenhouse models that play a "Westminster" chime come to mind). Otherwise it's simple enough to do. My biggest gripe with this doorbell has to be internet connectivity. I have a mesh network (Plume) and one of my pods became faulty, which I think ultimately led to the doorbell not wanting to stay connected to my network. My other issue is with the app; you can't change the doorbell alert tone for the iPhone version, so you're stuck with what sounds like the alert to let you know a nuclear plant is about to explode. The unit itself also feels a little cheap, but since it is cheap, that's really to be expected. All in all, it's a good value for what it is.

I love this brand so much that I have 5 different products they make and all of them work to perfection. The only problem I have had is with their doorbell. It has disconnected itself hundreds of times and you lose access to see what is happening in your door... sometimes it reconnects itself 1 day or maybe a week later or sometimes I have to factory reset it... all these is very annoying and I wish there would be an update that would fix this issue. At this point I have factory reset the doorbell but it has not allowed me to reconnect again... I love the product because it is affordable, supposedly easy to setup and it has the option of the memory card but what can you do with all these if it doesn't work ??? :(
