A lot of controversy over the casting of this one. I thought it was pretty ok, there are some pretty supreme Asian actors and filmmakers out there that would have knocked this live action project out of the park.

*** SPOILER ALERT *** The movie itself is OK, but it strays far from the anime. They essentially try to cram Stand Alone Complex and 2nd Gig into one movie. Plus it went way off base in multiple areas of the movie.

I was in one of my I have nothing to do and the dvd was cheap so I watched rather than go to the movies and spend $15.00 to $20.00. The movie just didn't do anything for me and I'm glad I got it cheap.

The trailers for this movie were great and I was expecting to see more of it during the movie, however, was extremely let down. No need to watch the movie, just watch the Trailers for entertainment....

Ordered a bunch of movies during a sale. First one I opened was great, had the digital copy slip inside. This one, not so much. No code enclosed, chat & telephone "help" were anything but. I'll try returning this to the store, but I expect they'll blow me off since it is opened. I already returned every other movie I bought that was unopened since this one isn't working out. Movie isn't that great - I just wanted to add it to my library since it was cheap.

Was looking forward to this in 3d but movie was so boring I fell asleep! If I ever get through it watch the whole thing I’ll do another review but so far it’s good sleeping through

I was excited to see this movie as the premise seemed interesting with the artificial intelligence aspect, but it kind of dragged on and it didn’t hook me like I had hoped.

Movie is fun and we enjoyed it. It gets 2 stars because the package was so old that the digital code was expired and didn't work.

Let's face it, the anime movie is way better than the live action movie... how do you have actor Takeshi Kitano and NOT showcase his talents, that is a load of garbage it wasn't fare.

I normally am very fond of sci fi movies. Although there were some good scenes and imaging, the movie itself did not make my expectations. I hope others like it more than I did.

I enjoyed the original a lot and was looking forward to this. I found this movie to be a bit lifeless and I’m really not sure why.

I expected a little more from this movie since it is so successful in anime, but I should have known better after Lucy. Someone somewhere will really enjoy this movie.

Was hoping for something like Lucy, which was really interesting. Still fun to watch and not a bad movie . Maybe it'll grow on me if I watch it again.

This movie wasn’t what I hoped it would be. The plot is stupid and boring. Just another futuristic movie with good special effects and a boring plot.

The very idea of ghost in a metallic shell talks of a surreal irony. A deep concept that vanishes in Hollywood's ambition to carve out a franchise.

Every scene is dark. Maybe one scene showed the 4k quality, but most scenes are dark or low lighting. The story line was not that great either.

This was a disappointment all over. But it did have great cgi. The movie dragged and was not better than the anime version. Good try though.

I really did not understand this movie to much. I did not get that feeling that would get me into this movie. I did not care for it that much.

I bought this movie because I like action and Scarlett Johansson. Don't waste your money on this movie. Just rent or borrow from a friend.
