If you've every been a fan of the film or the manga, then give the show a watch! Follow Major Motoko Kusanagi and the rest of her Section 9 team as they investigate various cybercrimes, all while trying to solve a case that has eluded authorities for years - who is the Laughing Man? It takes everything you love about the established world from the film and expands upon it. The characters, including the super awesome Tachikoma's, will definitely grow on you. As soon as you're done, you'll want to start season 2!

If you enjoyed the original Ghost in the Shell film, this series is a must-have. While not set in the same continuity, the familiar characters are still as engaging as they solve crimes and uncover conspiracies that challenge the foundation of the heavily augmented-future world that they inhabit.

There is an audio issue where some of the voices get turned way down against the background. Checking against earlier versions confirms its a problem exclusive to this version. Amazing series though.

I've owned the Anime Legends DVDs for quite a few years and while the show holds up their quality didn't. I only watch the dub so can't give any other input but have been quite satisfied!

Great anime that has a good main storyline and touches on the outcome of having a high level of technology not just in our everyday lives but literally in our bodies.

Huge fan of the GITS series and SAC is a great addition to the family. Top notch animation and great sci-fi atmosphere for any one who is a fan of the genre.

This goes beyond the masterpiece that the film is and becomes a masterpiece of it's own. Fantastic, stunning, beautiful series.

One of the best series in English now ready to pickup

When it comes to the future, few shows are as grounded and frightening as Ghost in the Shell. The movies are great (original 95 version and 2) but the show takes it to another level. The animation is fantastic, the laughing man storyline is gripping, and you get more of the Major and her mysterious past. Totally worth the purchase!

I've been meaning to make this purchase for years, but always seemed to get sidetracked. Anything Ghost In The Shell related always delivers for me, as it's one of my favorite anime series. I knew what I was getting, so I can't say that I'm surprised or disappointed in any way. If you love well thought out and executed anime, Ghost In The Shell won't let you down.

If you know, you know. Easily on the anime Mount Rushmore and for $15 its hard for me to see a better way to spend your money. That's less than 50 cents per episode, and it's blu ray. Best buy hasnt been short on deals this year (2020) and this is another prime example of that.

This show is close behind to the original '95 original, it's an interesting alternate timeline which expands what we previously saw in the first movie, in terms of world building and characters. The Major is a lot more upbeat and has more characteristics than the original.

The transfer itself is beautiful, and this anime looks better than ever on blu-ray. However, the new release has only one subtitle track for both the Japanese and English. Previous releases had better, more accurate subtitles for the original Japanese audio. This is the only reason for 4 out of 5 stars.

This follows the same story as most versions of Ghost in the Shell. But since we're given a full season rather than a 90 minute film, there is a lot more depth to go into here. There is a lot of time spent not just on the mystery at hand, but also an above average amount of character development to go with it.

It's been tough to find GiTS: SAC on streaming services, so I had to get this and 2nd Gig on Blu-Ray, and now they're among my prized possessions. Incredibly speedy delivery and it all plays like a dream.
