Fun action/comedy movie that is a good family flick

The quality of the movies is great, but the second movie just doesn't quite live up to the first. Still fun, especially the effects, but lacking.

Bought this, as previously I had only owned the original film in the special Anniversary edition DVD, and my son has suddenly loved all things Ghostbusters at the early age of 4. The original is, of course, a classic you simply cannot go wrong with. Ghostbusters 2 has always been hit or miss with me. Can't quite put my finger on it, but for some reason I have days where I find it funny, and others where I barely crack a stifled laugh. What's important is that my son finds it funny, and for all intents and purposes, it delivers. Pictures are particularly good here, even over the anniversary edition DVD. If you already own them, but love them, it's worth the double dip at its price point.

Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd are two of my favorite actors from when I was younger. This is a great ghost film series and so funny

Great collector 30th Ghostbusters film for fans of it.

Brings me back to my childhood every time i watch. Better than the reboot. Currently waiting for the 2020 reboot.

Take a journey back in CGI time when ghost busting was more about story then special effects! Enjoy the classics!

The first is obviously a classic. The second is mainly forgotten but isn’t terrible but it stands fine as a sequel.

bought this right after 4K TV purchase- since the TV up scales automatically its hard to tell where the quality really lies. I ran this disc through a PS4 (doesn't upscale) and through a Sony upscaling 3D Blu-ray player I purchased- The quality looked exactly the same off both devices. I also did the same test with Elysium (also 4K mastered) then just for the heck of it, I put in my regular Blu-ray copy of Ghostbusters and while there was some difference, it wasn't an astounding difference. The movie is old so there is some film grain but the colors seem preserved really well- If you are a fan and the price is right, why wouldn't you want the best source available?

Flawless. The 4K release is a perfect example of why companies should have no problems mastering from film sources, even ones from the 80's. Warner Bros and Fox need to take note! Even the CGI of Slimer looks good in these classic hits. My favorite part of these two movies is Sigourney Weaver. I'm a huge Aliens fan, and Sigourney is as representative of these as Bill Murray is. I'm hoping that the third movie (currently in post as of this writing) is as fun, visually impressive, and as timeless as Ghostbusters 1 and 2. I also got this on Sony's BOGO free sale (along with Heavy Metal) that they due periodically! You cannot go wrong with this purchase.

If you don't already know why any comedy fan needs to own these films (yes, even the sequel), nothing anyone can say is going to clue you in. If you're wondering whether this particular set is worth picking up, I'm here to help. The short answer is YES. You get both films, recently remastered in 4K, a truckload of bonus features, some of them rare, and a really cool booklet that details some of the films' development. Even better, the price-point at the time of this review was $9.99, PLUS it was part of a buy-one, get one free special, so in the end I got three movies on Blu-ray for $9.99, which is awesome!

Not too much to say about the films themselves. Ghostbusters is a wonderful classic while Ghostbusters II is a flawed sequel that's at best okay but mostly mediocre, yet entertaining nonetheless. But this new 4K transfer is what makes this worth purchasing. A vibrant punchy picture that remains true to the source material. Obviously it doesn't look like a modern day film, but it's the best either movie has looked even in theaters. Throw out those old Blu Ray releases because at the time of this writing this is the definitive edition to own. And with solid audio and special features, plus the neat digibook packaging, it makes for a must buy.

Transfer looks and sounds great. Nice bonus features and booklet. Not the biggest fan of the book packaging.

OK, pretty good movie too—a classic—but I'm assuming everyone's familliar with this awesome 80's flick, and am reviewing the quality of this blurray release. The whole 4k thing is kind of a marketing scam. Yes, technically it's better quality, but you need a big 4k tv, a 4k bluray player, and 4k content (like this disc) to notice anything. That being said, this release is by far the best looking GB release ever. As a matter of fact, it's probably in my top five for best looking (effects and all) of any 'older' movie that has gotten the specific remastered for bluray treatment (the 2013 BD remastered 'Terminator' is gorgeous as well.)
