This is a classic movie and an upgrade to any old DVD you have.

I wasn't sure if I would like it but it ended up being pretty good.

When I heard about this movie, people were both loving it and hating it before the movie came out JUST because it has female ghostbusters. I decided to judge it on its own merits. 90% of the movie would either rise or fall on the comedic chemistry between the the 4 female ghostbusters and a ditzy hunky male secretary. There are no jokes that you can instantly quote and be funny in isolation, like the original, but jokes build on jokes and the whole 5 minute scene is funny, and the movie is a string of 5 minute scenes.

I was not in love with the idea of a remake, then warmed to it as time went on. However, finally seeing this at home in 3D, the comedic payoff just wasn't there like I hoped. I loved Bridesmaids (big Wiig and McCarthy fan) but this is two levels below that. It does have some funny moments but not nearly on the same level as the original GB. It is better to me than GB2 though, that one was a real stinker! If you want to see Chris Hemsworth play humor, you have to see him in Vacation (yet another remake that didn't live up to the original). He makes that film worth seeing just for his part but isn't used quite as well in this one. 3D is good so I'll be watching this again for that aspect, but this is a 2-3 watches/lifetime rather than the 20-25 I'd plan for the original (Nice doggie, nice doggie... Ol' Zuulie you nut... What did you do Ray? No, it can't be! ...It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. :D ) Last comment:: Thank you to the studio marketing and sales department that decided to do 4k/3D combo. I love 3D and want to embrace 4K but won't if it is a choice between the two. Building a customer base means not fracturing the marketplace (I also want Atmos/DTSX sound on both formats!)

Hey ghostbuster fans, WHO YA GONNA CALL? CALL AND GO TO BEST BUY, to buy this updated, all female "GHOSTBUSTERS (2016)" (remake, as some say, but others say it is not a remake, but a reimagining). I bought the combo (4K / 3D bluray / bluray 2D / digital), even though I do not own a 4K TV. The 3D is excellent. Reason why I bought this. Best Buy had the BEST price, as usual. IF you have to see this movie, watch in 3D. BUT make sure, you go to Best Buy and purchase this movie. THATS who you are going to call on: Best Buy!

great movie to enjoy with my family and friends on weekends.

Arrived on time, in great condition. No problems playing.

I will warn those that are die hard fans of the original Ghostbusters. You will either love it or hate it. I went into thinking of it as something completely separate from the originals and I found it entertaining. The movie used the black bars above and below the film to add special effects and that was cool. The picture in 4k and hdr was great. It was also cool that this version brings the UHD bluray, 3D bluray, regular bluray and digital version for the same price. More movies need to do that.

Definitely a fun movie. A new twist on an old favorite.

This movie took a lot of flack that wasn't really deserved. There was backlash because people thought Ghostbusters just shouldn't be remade, there was a whole group of jerks who were just mad that there was an all female cast, and there was legitimate concern over how terrible the trailers were. The marketing for Ghostbusters was bad, horrible even. The trailers didn't accurately represent what the actual movie was like, and I think a lot of people stayed away because of how bad they looked. Surprise! The movie isn't terrible. The plot is very similar to the original Ghostbusters, but there are enough differences to keep it from feeling like a stale retread. The characters are very different from their original movie counterparts, so you don't have a one-to-one analogue of "this one's the Egon, and this one's the Venkman" and so on. In general, the new Ghostbusters are fun characters with good chemistry, which is really the movie's biggest strength. Unfortunately, not all of the jokes land particularly well, and some fall completely flat. However, there are more hits than misses, so it's still funny most of the time. I think the worst mistake they made was going for a full reboot instead of a "soft reboot" semi-sequel. Very little would need to be changed to make this Ghostbusters a continuation of the old one(s) rather than a retelling, and the movie probably would have been better for it, and almost certainly would have been better received.

This movie arrived within a few days after I had purchased on sale as deal of the day. I had seen the plastic case version being sold at the same price but I prefer the steel case because they generally don"t fall apart as quickly as plastic. I would likely have given 5 stars if it hadn't been dented upon arrival. The packaging was pristine so I can only assume it was shipped in that condition. Movie functions fine however so didn't want to drive across town to exchange it.

This was another title that I was not really interested in seeing let alone actually buying it, but after going to the theatre to watch it, it was actually funny. Don't get me wrong it did lack something but was funny because of, in my opinion, Chris Hemsworth and Kate McKinnon. Although it sounds like I didn't enjoy it, I actually think those two actors were what made this movie enjoyable watchable and buy worthy. Take a chance and watch this. You might be surprised.

I'll admit I wasn't looking forward to seeing this flick (no I'm not a misogynist, just didn't think it looked very entertaining). I finally watched it on Starz on demand and I was hooked. I even bought it so I could watch it in 3D and show it to my friends and family. Some of the jokes feel forced or fall flat, otherwise I'd have thought about giving it 5 stars. At least give the film a chance, especially if your expectations were low like mine were.
