To preface this review, I would have given it 5 stars had it come with 16GB of RAM. In my opinion 8GB is unacceptable at the $1100 price point in 2023. Its incredibly crippled by this given that the GPU and CPU are so powerful. Upgrading to a decent 16GB kit is very cheap and a must! Fortunately it was very easy to pop the bottom cover off and upgrade the RAM. For $30-40 you can get a nice 16GB kit that will VASTLY improve this laptop, not just in RAM capacity, but it will also give the CPU a nice boost by going from single channel to dual channel RAM. This was the first thing I did with this laptop, along with adding another 1 TB NVMe drive. I will give Gigabyte credit in that they did include a spare NVMe SSD screw, this is much appreciated! The single stick of RAM included is decent Crucial brand 3200MHz 8GB DDR4 memory. 1.2 volts CL22. Model number CT8G4SFS832A.M8FR so it could be as cheap as $15-$20 to grab another stick.
The screen is better quality that I thought it would be and I was pleasantly surprised, it looks good and is 144 hertz. Solid 1080p panel and I had no noticeable backlight bleed, very good quality on this panel/install.
The RTX 4060 is 75 watt TDP locked and it wont go above that, save for momentary spikes to say, 76 watts. That being said, it was a very strong performer. When I benchmarked this on 3Dmark, I was getting desktop class RTX 3060 (170 watts TDP) numbers. This is incredible for a mobile chip with a 75 watt TDP. It will easily eat up anything you throw at it, at the screens native resolution of 1080P and high frame rates will be no issue at all. Plus you get the RTX 40 series improvements like frame generation, which will give it an even better performance advantage vs previous generations. Please see the pictures attached to my review to see benchmark numbers. These numbers are at STOCK settings (with 16GB RAM mind you) with the performance mode used in the Gigabyte control center (unlocks the full 75 watts TDP for the GPU, balanced is limited to around 48 watts, and quiet mode is 25 watts). For reference, I had a 140 watt TDP RTX 3070 laptop, it got a TimeSpy Graphics score of 10730 , this 75 watt 4060 got a score of 9190. this means the nearly double TDP RTX 3070 mobile chip was only 16.8% faster. In terms of raw rasterization performance, you should expect desktop class stock 170 watt RTX 3060 performance from this laptop.
The fans can get loud, but you're buying a 15 inch gaming laptop that is fairly thin and portable, what do you expect? You're getting serious performance out of this laptop, and that carries with it some fan noise.
I do appreciate the fact that it has a mini DisplayPort, this is important to me because it can act a desktop replacement for me, if my desktop were to have issues. I need DisplayPort for my 3440x1440 175 hz monitor. This attention to detail on the ports is appreciated, not many laptops at this price point would include mini DP.
I would recommend this item if you're able to upgrade the RAM, its easy, but I do think that this will hamper sales a bit, as some people just are not comfortable doing this kind of upgrade. It took me less than 10 mins, and 90% of that time was taking screws out or putting them back in.

Speakers aren't great. Seems to struggle a bit with some games.
