Customers highly value the gaming performance and affordability of the 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz Gaming Laptop, noting its ability to run many games smoothly with high graphics and represent a good value for the price. However, a common complaint centers around the relatively short battery life, with many users describing it as a significant drawback. Positive feedback focuses on the laptop's ability to handle demanding games, while negative feedback consistently points to battery performance as needing improvement.

Easy to upgrade, and very fast! I added two more drives to this. Another NVME and another standard 2.5" SSD. It's one of the fastest laptops I have ever owned. My gaming desktop is what I used mainly for gaming, but this allows me to game while traveling or when I simply don't want to fire up my desktop.
The screen is nice and bright, it's fast and the provided SSD NVME is excellent. I'd probably will end up upgrading to 32GB of RAM, but overall this is a great package.
One downside is the battery life, but are people really expecting a laptop with a dedicated GPU will have chromebook level battery life? If you want a laptop with long battery life, this isn't for you. It's a somewhat power hungry gaming laptop.

I have had this laptop for about a month now. I really wanted to ensure that I had a good grasp of this machine before I wrote a review on it. For a quick summary, I overall really like this computer. While it is not perfect (nothing is), I would not hesitate to recommend this machine to someone looking for a reasonably capable gaming machine.
Now I will go into more depth. I will begin with the build quality, which I deem to be satisfactory for the price segment. There is no metal on this computer's chassis, but the plastic is solid enough. It is not an expensive feeling plastic, but it is strong. While keyboard flex is minimal, there is some flexing on the screen. I would recommend raising the lid using the center of the screen as opposed to an outer edge. All of that said, I would not hesitate to drop this computer into a backpack or carrying case to use on the go (at least when considering build quality alone...more on that later).
The next, I will discuss the parts of the laptop that a user will interact with the most, the screen, the keyboard, and the trackpad. The screen is quite good. The 144hz is smooth and the colors are vivid, though certainly not color accurate enough for professional use. I also appreciate the wide viewing angles. There are a couple of flaws, however. First, there are bright spots on the screen that one can see when the display is black. They appear on the edges and are somewhat distracting. This is most pronounced on the start screen when booting the machine up. Secondly, I found that my particular screen has a dead pixel which serves as a minor annoyance. While I understand that not every unit will have this problem, perhaps it says something about Gigabyte's quality control. Overall though, the screen is quite good.
This computer's keyboard is quite enjoyable to use. The keys are well sized and well spaced, which makes typing quite easy (if not a bit fun). The keys are very quite too, which is a plus for those who may find themselves in a professional environment. The backlighting allows for the user to choose both the brightness level and the color, so you can make it as loud or subdued as you would like. I particularly appreciate that this computer includes a number pad, which is a feature absent on many 15 inch competitors. While a bit cramped, its addition is most appreciated. I rate the keyboard as excellent.
On to the trackpad. I am used to using Apple MacBook trackpads which are probably the best in the industry, so my opinion of this pad is somewhat tainted by my use of that, but this trackpad is adequate. It is spacious, but a bit cheap feeling. You are not going to forget that you're gliding your finger across plastic. I also do not care for the fact that the pad does not support an actual physical click, forcing me to tap instead. Perhaps its biggest fault is the dead-zones I have encountered. They are small and not too intrusive, but I have noticed that there are areas where the cursor will not respond to finger movement. Overall, the pad is usable, but if you are going to be using the computer for any significant length of time I would recommend a mouse.
Next, I will write about this machine's performance. It would seem to me that the cheap feeling plastic was used in order to beef up the performance of the computer, a trade-off I certainly appreciate. The processor is snappy. I am coming from using Apple M1 processors, so saying that means something. I find that the single-core tasks that I ask of this machine are completed quite quickly. Starting apps, for example, is almost instantaneous. This is the first Windows machine that I can honestly say that of. As for the graphics performance, I believe that it is quite good for the price (mind you, I paid $699 for this computer). I play Attila: Total War and get 60 fps on mostly ultra settings. While the game is a few years old now, I suspect that this computer will run just about anything you throw at it. You might not get 4k/60 out of Cyberpunk (don't even try it), but for the casual gamer who just wants something to play games on, this machine will be more than adequate. Do note, and this is important, that the computer from the factory (at least in my case) came with an outdated BIOS version (7, if I recall) that reduces the performance of the GPU. I ran a benchmark on Attila: Total War prior to updating and got about 40 fps, so updating the BIOS gave me about 20 fps more. I would highly suggest updating your system's BIOS, though do so carefully because a broken BIOS can break a computer. If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, ask a professional. Moving on, I will next write about the thermal performance I have experienced. I have read a number of reviews on this computer that say that it runs hot. In my experience, this is not completely accurate. While under load, such as playing a game, I found that the fans are quite good at getting the heat out of this machine. They are more powerful than any laptop I have ever used. While I am not an expert, I have played games for hours and the computer's chassis is only warm. That said, I do use my computer on an elevated cooling pad, so that may have something to do with it. Using the computer for low-level tasks keeps the fans quite and the machine only a bit warm to the touch. All of that said, this computer's performance provides an excellent bang for the buck.
The last area that I will write about is the computer's battery. To be brief, it is bad. Do not buy this computer thinking that you are going to be gaming on the go. Just watching YouTube videos drained my battery from 100% to 60% in probably 45 minutes. I have never used a laptop that sucks battery power like this one does. That said, there is one redeeming factor about this battery, namely that it is hot swappable. Yes, the user can easily remove this battery without going into the laptop's innards and swap in a fresh one on the fly. This is a feature I wish more computers still had. I suppose that it has been sacrificed on the altar of making things thin and light. Regardless, I did not buy this computer for battery performance. I suspect that most people buying GAMING laptops are interested in getting the best performance possible, and that will only come by using wall power. My recommendation is this, treat the battery as a back-up in case the power goes out. It will give you time to save your game or that spreadsheet you have been working on for hours. Other than that keep this unit plugged in. It is simply not meant for long battery endurance.
Overall, I very much like this computer. While the battery performance and cheap feeling plastic take away a star, I believe that this machine will be more than enough for most laptop users. I particularly appreciate that it has gaming level performance in a body that does not scream GAMER, which allows it to be used in a professional environment. I believe that for the price I paid ($699), and even a bit more than that, this computer is an excellent bang for the buck (especially in a time when new computer hardware tends to be so expensive). Do yourself I favor and put this in your cart.

My first gaming PC. Bought on sale at a very good price almost two years ago, and it has served my well so far for light gaming.
However, the RTX 3050M won't keep up in the future. I expect to buy an RTX 4070 laptop next year on sale, although it will probably cost almost twice what this did.
If you are not a serious gamer but want a decent gaming laptop for casual gaming, especially older games, this is great if the price is right.

Listen, I do enjoy this computer. Sims? Runs great. Python? Works perfect. I, being the woman I am, like to bring my laptop ( likes it’s supposed!!! To be used) places. let me tell you this, it literally last maybe 30 mins. I will take the exquisite performance of making my sims marry Andrew Garfield and have 30 children over battery.

For a budget gaming computer, you can't complain.
Pros- The keys are high quality and illuminated. Graphics are great for mid-level games. Low open-box price. (I paid $550) Lightning fast wifi internet (wifi6)/ I was getting 200 Mbps a with standard modem.
Cons- Loud cooling fan when playing games. Small screen for FPS games. The body looks dated. Has crashed a few times. (After 5 hours of game play)
Gets quite hot after sustained game play. (I recommend an additional cooling pad to be placed underneath for extra protection.
I use this computer to play games, write, and do some web surfing. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal at the moment. As long as you don't expect the world for a $800 MSRP gaming laptop, you won't be disappointed.

I actually didn't buy this for a gamer, but for a visiting missionary who needed a laptop while in the US to do a video project on his work in his home country.
He is very pleased with this entry level gaming laptop. It is reliable, fast, portable, with plenty of HD space for his project.
Sorry cannot comment on how it does with gaming, but for the uses this individual puts it to, it is great!

I bought that laptop only to experience premium Sims 4 gaming. When I first opened the game, I was ready to adjust graphics to ultra but then what. It was already in ultra!!! And it was working perfectly! It worths every penny I spent! However I wish the battery was better, besides that everything is perfect.

Can run most big games smoothly. I say this because when it comes to playing Sims 4 in high quality, it does run even with CC, but when your lot gets too big, the laptop gets a little slow and overheats. I did get it while it was on sale for $699 and for that value, I think it's pretty worth. Would I buy this for the original price though? Probably not.

Good for average tasks, but poor for gaming. The RTX 3050 is really week for games. Had to put the graphics on low to play Witcher 3 to get a decent frame rate, so I returned it. If you're not using it for gaming, then it's a pretty good laptop. For the amount of ram and the size of the SSD, it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper than a lot of similar laptops. Would definitely be good for office use or the average user. Battery life is not the best though.

My husband did a lot of research into laptops for me that are the best quality for your money. This one is definitely it. I purchased it in June 2022 and since then I have worked full time on this laptop and go to university online with it. I play Sims 4 on it, and we let our boys play Fortnite and Apex on it and all these games run great! Never slow or laggy. Decent size screen, and the number pad on the right side of the keyboard is always a plus for laptops. Only slight negative is the battery life, it's not that great (about an hour or so while working, full brightness, etc... I'm sure you could lengthen the time by dimming the screen, but I've never tried) but I keep it plugged in 99% of the time so it doesn't bother me at all! Great quality and definitely worth it!

Video quality was great, audio without aux equipment was surprisingly tolerable, and although the computer fan was exactly as loud as a standard desk fan it did its job cooling the laptop as long as it was not resting flat on the table (I propped it up on a wire rack for cooling baked goods for more airflow). However, the battery died just after owning it for 2 years and with light usage, as it wasn’t my main PC. Won’t accept a charge and am currently taking it in to Geek Squad to be repaired.

The cooling system is like an airplane, but after tweaking the fan curve, it's now much better. Also dont forget to switch to the nvidia's gpu rather then the intel when gaming.
