I purchased this in 12/2022. It has seen pretty heavy use since and still runs like new. I can play any game I want. Maybe not at the highest ultra settings every time, but in those instances it is most likely due to the game being un-optimized. The design is sleek. It’s lightweight even for a beastly machine.

Fantastic features and lots of room to grow!
Can load up any recent game and get 60fps (and more in many cases) at ultra settings. The high refresh rate screen is beautiful and the RTX 3070ti does a great job pushing it. It's also awesome to know that I can add more (DDR5) ram and drive space as needed, which I'm sure I will at some point, but for now, I'm good with what comes out of the box. Also, while it is light on ports, the ones it does have are relatively future proof (for a while, at least) - thunderbolt4, hdmi 2.1, etc. and provide great connectivity to external displays at high framerates (as well as being able to use an eGPU down the road, if needed).
As mentioned in other reviews, the main cons are battery life (only ~3-4hrs web browsing, watching videos, etc., - no gaming - running in battery saver mode) and the lack of USB-A ports (only 1). I have purchased a 2-pack of USB-C to USB-A adapters in case I need more, but 1 is enough for now (kb and mouse connected via logitech receiver/bluetooth). I also use it at a desk connected to power, for the most part, so the battery life isn't too much of an issue - but I would hope GIGABYTE can make some software updates that could improve it, since the battery IS quite large, compared to other laptops in this range.

Technical issues out the box

I took it out the box and booted it up, several windows updates failed to install repeatedly, and the NVIDIA graphics driver refused to update, requiring a DDU wipe and clean install of the latest drivers each time a new driver was released. Certain games refused to render in fullscreen windowed mode, displaying graphical artifacting on display instead. The straw that broke the camel’s back is the thing refusing to push audio to my tv when it was doing it just fine yesterday morning, and nothing changed about the system. Ill be returning the laptop, and ive onky had it for 3 weeks

Great Laptop! I purchased this to replace an aging Aero 15 and this is worlds ahead in terms of cooling and performance, but that's to be expected with a 4 generation jump in hardware.(I'm coming from a 7700HK and GTX 1060) I mostly bought this to game on and this has been blasting through my normal titles with ease, and the display looks gorgeous. Coming from best buy they don't include the gigabyte software. Hooray for no bloatware overall, but you'll need to download the proper control center for this machine to do anything with the RGB lighting, fan and power profiles. Easy enough to do, though.
My only gripe is the fans can be quite loud under load, but I play with a headset on so it's a non-issue for me, but worth noting if you intend on using the built in speakers or if you share a room with someone.
Battery life is OK if it's on power saver, but not great overall. I'm using this plugged in 90% of the time, so its a non issue, and it could be extended by changing some of the power settings, to only use the intel iGPU for example.
I saw the other review and was curious, so I ran the geekbench 5 test as well, With the "gigabyte high performance" power plan enabled, and the "power" fan profile enabled, my first run got a 1713 SC and 11632 MC score, which is more or less in-line with all the other 12700h scores I see on Windows. The fans did ramp up, but nowhere near full speed, and temp never got above 70 C during the test. Probably could do better if i spent time tweaking stuff, but I don;t really care too much. It's miles better than my old one so I'm a happy camper!

This thing is awesome. it's perfect for studying developers. The only thing is battery life is a little short, but what do you expect with a 4070 and an i7 in a laptop.

I don’t know how this was shipped when first released but I got mine 10/9/22. I did have to install lots of windows updates and drivers etc but it was all automated. Mine runs great! I’m coming off a desktop with I-8700k and gtx1080ti and I would say this is pretty similar. It does need fans to run high to keep cool or it will throttle cpu and gpu so keep in gaming or turbo mode! But I can run my oculus rift s just fine off this. Battery life sucks! Gaming is maybe an hour. But that’s not surprising for a gaming laptop. Normal use battery still sucks but it’s a few hours or more. It’s a gaming laptop, not an ultra book! My benchmark tests show top 10 percentile performance for the components. Keep in mind that because gaming laptops try to use the integrated gpu when possible to reduce battery usage that to benchmark you have to be sure it is using the RTX3070ti and not the Intel Iris graphics.

This laptop is absolutely amazing. Has better graphics and screen than my husband's desktop. My games are crystal clear. I had never heard of the brand before this. But I am extremely happy with this purchase

This machine could have been great but it has poor performance for a 12th gen CPU. I also had to reset the laptop back to factory settings because the Gigabyte Control Center software which you need to get any performance from this laptop would not load after a Windows Update. The company doesn't have good support and so to remediate I had to reset the laptop to factory and reinstall everything again. Battery life is abysmal even for a gaming laptop and even with the panel set to 60hz and in battery saver mode, I got less than 3 hours while watching standard definition YouTube and doing some light Python programming. The highest Geekbench 5 score was 1640 Single-Core Score and 10517 Multi-Core Score and that is with fans blazing. If the Gigabyte Control Panel fails to run then you get between 6000-7000 which is not very good. Cooling is excellent and the panel is very good although not very bright and the SSD is a very fast Gen4 drive. Price for performance is just not there and I experienced no response from support. Keyboard and Trackpad are good. The camera is good enough and Windows Hello works awesome on the laptop.
