    I purchased this multi function slicer because of safety from getting cut. The base holds the slicer in place making it a one hand operation. Vegetable holder works OK/standard, I would prefer a fixed holder on slides. The multi function makes up for holder, this slicer does about any type slicing you may desire.

    This has change cooking for me.As compared to a simple knife, using a meat slicer requires less effort, as well as keeps the texture of food more intact.
