Great movie and good follow up to the series. It’s funny and has great action.

Anime sequel to the anime TV show. The students of a girl’s high school can save their school from closure only by defeating a university level, “professional” tankery team. In other words, the often used anime-manga setting of cute girls playing all the hero roles. Tankery is essentially combat between teams of WWII tanks modified so no one is killed. It is a good story line with well developed characters. Rationalizations for what happens and why are revealed over the course of the movie. It is also a feast for fans of WWII armor and armored combat. Multiple tanks from every country are shown in accurate detail. Combat tactics and strategy are equally realistic. If you can identify by sight that the heroine’s tank is probably a PZKW Mark IV, aus. G with side skirts, this is your movie.

Imagine that your school and home town were on a 5 mile long ship, and one of the main sports in your school was tank battles. And yours is neither the biggest or richest school afloat. Now the tank club has to become a champion team to literally keep their school afloat. I loved the series, and grabbed up the movie when I accidentally discovered it. Typical wacky armored high jinks. And watch for the fish dance.

A continuation of the Girls Und Panzer franchise which is one of my favorites. Cute high school girls with WWII tanks? What's not to love?

A great movie for old and new fans of Girls und Panzer.
