Like its predecessor, the game is an action role-playing game with hack and slash gameplay. Players are equipped with God Arc weapons which can be transformed.[2] In the game, players are tasked to hunt massive monsters known as Aragami. The player character is a God Eater who can absorb energy from monsters to unleash "burst moves", special attacks that deal a lot of damage to enemies.[3] Companion characters, which are controlled by artificial intelligence, assist in combat. Players can activate the Engage System to share combat perks with them during combat.[4] The game can be played cooperatively with four other players, while assault missions accommodate up to 8 players.[

A really solid, fun title if you're looking for a faster-paced, less strategy orientated Monster Hunter that's more geared towards action than the more methodical approach of MH (Monster Hunter). It's also much easier to approach game than MH for newcomers; every control and system is explained to you in a way that's easy to understand, making this a great game to get into if you're on the fence about the depth of these games.
To go over all of the positive aspects of the game, I, of course, have to first mention the combat. The combat is, bar none, some of the greatest in any video game I've played in recent memory. The music can be hit or miss, but the majority of the time, I found myself either enjoying the score or forgetting it was there entirely as I focused on combat, but it was never intrusive or too much. The game also has an insane amount of customization allowed for your character with the number of weapons you can choose from, as well as a decent cosmetic customization system. The Aragami design, the monsters in this game, is also very good, and I'd go as far to say even better than recent MH titles.
While this game does have stellar combat and a few other great mechanics, I do want to touch on the flaws as well. The story isn't anything to write home about and the dialogue really isn't up to par with most modern games, but the characters are memorable and charming. Another small issue is the mission design; Every mission you go into is very straightforward, with a path akin to a corridor, a room, another corridor, another room, and copy and paste this formula for almost every map in the game, meaning exploration is out of the picture entirely for this title. All of the maps in the game are also reused multiple times, taking away from the immersion in the game, but considering most people won't be too terribly into the story and its continuity, it's an easy flaw to look past.
The visuals are also nothing spectacular. Take any JRPG from the last few years and you'll see that God Eater 3 looks almost identical to other games that came out years before it. The landscapes and design of some areas are interesting and cool to look at, but overall, it's just a small step below of what we should be expecting at this point, even for a switch title, but that also doesn't necessarily mean the visuals are bad either. I personally think it's a complete non-issue, I never really care about graphics in video games, but for the select few, I think it's worth mentioning that it isn't anything grand.

Do you like fast paced action RPG's, online cooperative experience, and the Monster Hunter series? You may want to give this one a try. It's a pretty lengthy experience with pretty nice visuals set in a post apocalyptic sort of setting. The action and combat feels like taking a faster paced game like Devil May Cry and combining it with Monster Hunter. It feels great and it's a very good experience.
Now, how does the Switch port hold up? Pretty well actually. Like many other games, it doesn't quite look as good as the base and slim PS4 versions and it's nowhere near as good as the PS4 Pro version or getting this on PC if you have a pretty decent rig. But, if you were a fan of the series on Vita, the Switch version is a big step up either way. If you're a Switch only gamer or you prefer gaming on Switch, this is still a very good looking and good running game. It runs at 30fps on both Switch and the base PS4. If you have a PS4 Pro, it can get up to 60fps and of course, if you have a good enough PC and a good enough screen, you can do a lot more.
So, is it worth it getting this on Switch. Absolutely. Even if you own a good gaming PC, the graphics are pretty great across the board and you still have the option of playing the game portably on Switch. Hence the reason why I picked the game up for Switch over PC.

If your a fan of the Monster hunter series this is the game for you. There are many similar elements to Monster Hunter in this game such as preparing for missions and knowing the enemies weak points before starting a mission. There aren't that many elements like in monster Hunter that you have to pay attention to, like keeping your weapon sharp at all times.
The games main element I believe would be customization. There are so many weapons choices for the user to choose from and many weapons enhancements to add on which gives the player an endless amount of combinations. Combat in the game does get repetitive at times since there is a hack and slash element, however there are unique skills for each weapon which will keep the user engaged throughout the game.
There is a story to this game that works hand in hand with monster hunting games. The gameplay is very smooth compared to other console ports and I have not had any problems with frame rate drops at all. Overall this is a very solid port for those interested in this type of game.

If you're into action JRPGs but always found Monster Hunter daunting, God Eater 3 is absolutely perfect. There's a 35+ hour story, tons of post-game content, and an online mode to farm materials and unlock blueprints with friends. The online lobby is pretty dead, though, but the game does fill in empty spots (up to 8 players) with A.I. bots. It runs great docks and in handheld mode and is a great jumping on point for the diet Monster Hunter series. I've put WAY more time into GH3 than I anticipated and always look forward to jumping back in.

Not exactly as difficult as Souls game or Monster Hunter World etc, but it does scratch the itch. The combat is really fun and fast-paced. If you're a fan of anime, you also can't go wrong. There are a variety of weapons with different playstyles that can fit your fancy. Not too difficult, missions generally each last about 3-6 minutes, and isn't really a map exploration style game. The port is pretty great.

I never really thought I would like this game as much as I did. After playing the demo on the eShop, I knew this Monster Hunter-like game was so much more than that. The gameplay can be adapted to your play style depending on if you like ranged or close combat, quick light vs heavy and slow, and so on. The variety is apparent. The storyline may not be the best, but the gameplay is plenty fun.

Love the game and story. The missions are kind of repetitive until you get some of the higher levels unlocked. Controls are a little complicated by default. Since the new switch update you can custom map your controls and that makes all the difference. I mapped it to the setup of a ps4/Xbox controller and haven’t had an issue since.

This is one game where I have to pace myself because I play too much. You are a prisoner with 'special abilities' that goes beast mode in the battlefield, showing your employers and the Arigami who's boss. Good stuff, just buy it.
