Some of the best monster action featuring the King of the Monsters. The Godzilla scenes may be short but are great and enjoyable to watch.

Great movie if you’re a fan of Godzilla. The first movie in the monsterverse. Have all three of the current movies now (Godzilla, Kong Skull Island, and Godzilla King of the Monsters) preparing for Godzilla vs Kong. The regular blu ray movie didn’t come with a digital code or slipcover for those that want to know. I already pre ordered the 4K Steelbook cant wait for that one.

Please watch this with a sound bar. The A+ quality sound (which is phenomenal) is there to overshadow the poor Monster story line and the depressive humanistic element the writers put on it. No Mothra, King Ghidora or Rodan. I hope the studio will follow the old super hero equation and add 2 maybe 3 villains on the next one. (Get the 3D combo pack)

Godzilla was good, not great. I enjoyed the story line that came with this reboot, but it was too heavy on the "non-Godzilla" portion of the film. I could've taken a lot less "story" and a lot more Godzilla action. I would say by the end of the movie maybe 30 mins is dedicated to actual Godzilla fighting action. But it surprised me that I liked it as much as I did. Most of these movies take place in the dark and this is no exception, but I really did feel like I could actually see the action/monsters fighting, so I wasn't unhappy with it. I will say it is better on the big screen (in the theater) than it is at home on my flat screen TV. But the best defining moment is when Godzilla roars the loudest, longest, most deafening roar I've ever heard in monster movies (it's when he roars and you see the Chinese lanterns flying around from the vibration). When I saw it in the theater, the audience actually broke out in applause after that happened - die hard Godzilla fans, for sure. Check it out. It's worth the watch.

Godzilla is just what us Japanese sci-fi enthusiasts have been craving . This movie has all of the components of the 60's - 90's Godzilla but with the perfection that only American movies can deliver. With the updated story line, makes for a great movie. I hope they make a second movie!

Definitely a improvement over the Blu-ray. You can see things more clearly now. As far as the movie itself, I would have liked more “ Godzilla “ and less human story. Still a entertaining flick and the SteelBook looks fantastic.

Wow! This is the ultimate edition of ‘14 Godzilla we’ve all been waiting for! Everyone knows this has always been a dark movie, but the detail you get on this disc wipes all of the crushed blacks out of your mind. The steelbook design should please any fan. Highly recommended!

Why the Filmmakers went the route they went. this film is basically a setup of whats to come.despite the fact i would have liked the filmmakers to go towards a more aggressive route with my favorite Kaiju of all time it is a the best of all G films .

I'm a big fan of all the Godzilla movie, so my opion is bias. it's a good movie. But i think there could have been more screen time for the big guy, he seems to co-star in the beginning. but it's an awsome movie if you have a good home setup.

I think it's the cover that gives me feeling nostalgic when I think of godzilla. I loved how it looks on 4k. I'm a big fan of godzilla movies. So I recommend this to anyone that likes godzilla .

Saw it in the theater first! Blu Ray is awesome! What a fun flick!

Pros: The passive 3D (this title has medium level) on an OLED & 7.1 via DTS Neaural X adds more fun factor experience on a calibrated 11.2 (7.2.4) system! Sound is a plus & has lots of unique low frequencies to test out your low hertz/db subs. Digital copy. Cons: Started off strong but felt the movie lost momentum half way. No slipcover

It was on sale, so I bought it. After I got it the case was broken in half witch sucks a lot. But at least the disk are ok I guess. Will not order online if this happens.

. An intense horror movie! Redefines the genre by delivering a solid plot with a scary lead actor and multiple chilling moments. A little bit of pacing issues could've been handled well but the end takes the viewer by surprise. Christian Bale is effective. I first saw him as Batman and now as Bateman...His performance is outstanding! It's hard to decide which genre it actually comes under because it blends multiple genres: horror, drama, crime, thriller etc. But I would classify it as horror because even without the chills, the lead character still is pretty menacing.

I watched this movie before but seeing it in 4k uhd again with a sound home theater system made it even more shocking. I still felt the chills when I hear Godzilla steps. The subwoofer really made the cut here. Would have loved it more if it was only a monster movie not human drama but the actors were great.

The second best Godzilla movie I have seen. The story line gives you history. You get to know him better! Is he really that Bad, or in his own way that good. Some of the fights are done very well. There are parts that look almost slowmotion, some are the best part of the movie. The action taken place, the look on people's faces, the look that Godzilla shows. The monsters that he fights, it looks like Godzilla does not have a chance to win.

This movie may not be as colorful or bright as most other blockbusters, but its film with a care and attention to detail that demands the best format; 4K may be where it's at, but at this price, 'Godzilla' (2014) on Blu-ray is a steal. See it in this format to appreciate the richness and depth of the film's texture. It's a visual feast that serves as an appetizer to its follow-up, 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'.

They can’t all be winners but this Godzilla is a lot better than its sequel King of the Monsters, if you’re looking for a good story then this isn’t it , the monster sequences are the only redeeming factor in either films though the cgi for the sequel is terribly noticeable, either American films are just as hokey as the rest but without the charm, just another title in this character’s many story lines, 2016 Shin Godzilla is highly recommended..
