LOVE this workout. It was my first workout game I purchased for the Wii which was given to me for Christmas. As an X-Bike (like spinning only harder) instructor I teach class up to 4 times a week for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. I needed something I can do on my off days where I am not in a gym and don't feel like going for a 5 mile run. This was perfect! I definitely pump it up by bouncing/skipping from foot to foot vs. stepping but this is the difference I need. It works my inner thighs, my abs, my arms and I feel like I could actually hold my own in a boxing match (ha, j/k). The other thing that keeps me going is the more points I get the more stuff I unlock like new music, instructors, workouts, and clothes to buy and change to. It's awesome!

got this one to tide me over until I pick up Wii Fit next month, and found it easy to use, even without the balance board (though you'll wan the balance board eventually to take advantage of the whole gam). Even with the basic wii controls I was able to work up a sweat. The punches are probably not up to a real gold's trainer's snuff - would be nice to have wii boxing gloves - but if a cardio workout is what you're after, just follow the exercises, exaggerate them a little, and you do pretty well. Lets you unlock levels pretty easily which for someone as out of shape as i am is encouraging.

This game provides a great workout. There are instructional workouts that you must complete before starting the regular workouts, so you'll have a good idea how to do the moves.
The main workouts can be set by the game or chosen by you. There are warm-up ones as well as long workouts. The game has multiple workout levels and various difficulties at each level. The long workouts are broken up into two segments to allow you to get a drink of water, which you'll probably need.
The workout moves are pretty good. As you get to the more advanced workouts, you'll start sweating and will feel the effects of the workout.
Other advantages - you can pick your workout music (dance-type versions of songs). There are many to choose from. You can also change the volume of background music compared to the instructors voice, which is great as you get more advanced. You don't have to listen to the instructions if you don't want to.
You can use the Wii balance board, but only with certain activities. I prefer the ones without the board. You should have two Wii remotes (not remote + nunchuck).
Overall, a great game and worth buying!

i bought this game based upon the reviews i'd read. i recently purchased wii fit and love it and found that the boxing part of it was my favorite. when i noticed this game was basically all boxing i was excited but didnt know if it'd be that fun. as soon as i got home i tried it out and loved it! within 10 min i was working up a good sweat and my calves were burning. it seems a little fast paced when you start but once you get the steps down its easy. ive used it almost every day for the last week and can feel it already. definately worth the money!

Purchased this two days ago and I was pleasantly surprised at the workout the game gives. Note this is not a game but a boxing workout.
First and foremost if you have two Wii Motes PLEASE USE THEM as the nunchuk smacks you in the face or gets tangled for brief moments while hooking and uppercutting...however that being said it is still totally useable with the nunchuk as i havent bought another Wii mote yet.(just got the console for xmas). and this minor annoyance will not deter me from continuing my workout.
The rest of this review is just personal preferences or challenges you may face:
*The "mini" games the jumprope...Man i couldnt get a groove going to save my life on this one. Once i jumped 90 times i was happy! then couldnt do it again may b operator error..SMH.
* Wish the segments were longer to keep heartrate up but still ok with the small breaks.
*Wonderful workout keeps your interest every muscle in my upper body hurt after the first day and i bounce a little extra just to keep in aerobic mode overall i love this and would love for a cardio boxing martial arts workout or a version two for this one!!

I picked this game up on the day it came out. I love the rhythm boxing on Wii Fit and figured if it was anything like that it would be good. I was surprised to find out that it does NOT require the Wii Balance Board (I have one but it's nice to be able to more around more).
I went through the training modes and found it challenging but not so challenging that I didn't want to keep trying. I spent an hour working through various levels and by the time I was done my calf muscles were burning and I was sweating.
If you are one of the million people stalking Best Buy for the Wii Fit to come in you might want to consider this game!!

I read the reviews on this before I purchased it, and that's what really made me want to buy!
I brought it home, and figured I could stay in my work clothes and test it out! About 5 minutes into it, it was quite apparent that I needed to put some different clothes on. It's a real work-out!
After about 45 minutes of Shape Boxing, I was sweating uncontrollably and couldnt believe how hard I had worked, considering it was a TON of fun!
I recommend this to anyone that is looking for a work out at home...it beats home workout video's by a mile...I think the best part is it doesnt require a wii fit balance board.
It's great! If your thinking about buying...I definitely recommend this! It's a game, with great results...

I am in my middle 50's and am somewhat out of shape. This program is easy to learn and has me sweating and feeling many unused muscles, however it has me wanting to continue to use it. I have not gotten bored. This is great if you are looking for a good workout. I like that the Wii Fit Board can be used but you don't need to use it.

I bought this game after buying the Wii Fit as an additional weight loss tool. I'm addicted. If you like boxing you'll love this game. I didn't know that the game was mostly boxing when I bought it and wondered how I'd like it. I got right in there and love learning all the moves. As a 35 year old female I love the workouts they give you form easy, medium and hardcore. You can unlock games other than boxing like jump rope, log cutting, stomach exercises, squats, dodging, hitting the bag, etc. It only took me a week to unlock all of the other workouts. There is an examination and shape boxing which goes up in skill level. The people who couldn't figure out the jump rope and other balance board activites, just need a little patience and good listening. It shows you how do to everything. You can unlock different trainers and clothes you can buy with your points. You can also change clothes on the trainers along with music you get for doing any of the workouts. There are 3 different areas to box from the gym to the forest to the beach.

Working out made fun

This is way better than a work out video because you can easily tell if you are hitting your goal or not. If you miss a punch, it tells you. The first weekend I had it, I did so much my arms hurt for a week and a half. Now though, I just workout and sweat. It's excellent. I've recommended it to many of my friends that enjoy Wii Fit. Great buy!

A Real Sweat

I purchased this game during Christmas. I had been working out with the Wii Fit plus since Christmas 2009 and that had gotten old and I came across this game in the store and wondered how much of a workout it would actually provide and this really does work your upper body, lower body, stance, endurance, coordination and overall build. The intro levels are a bit boring but once you start unlocking the intermediate and advanced levels you can get a hardcore sweat going and feel a burn. This definitely a workout game more so than a social entertainment game both sexes will thoroughly enjoy and as a male it shows results. I enjoy it and some of the workout sessions are actually 13-15 minutes long. I'm glad I made the purchase.

I have had this for a week and enjoy working out with it. So far the only problem i have has is not being able to change my settings to using one controller and a nunchuck to using two controlers. The wire in between the two get in the way if you have long arms. I also wish this game was able to measure your weight like the Wii Fit.

you can really get a good sweat going with this game if you put in the effort! the instructional levels are boring, but you have to get through them to play the rest of the game, and it teaches you to do the moves correctly. (it really doesn't take too long) after that, time flies by so quickly; the first time playing i didn't realize i'd been at it for an hour, and was just burning up a sweat! the instruction is easy to follow, and they track your 'hits' and 'misses' as well as the total number of punches you've thrown. i'd think this game would be good for all ages. it's easy to catch on, and you can put as much or as little into it as your body permits. i bought this game based on the reviews, and was not disapointed.

I really enjoyed this. I used the option with the two remotes, and it worked very well. I did about an hour yesterday and then woke up this morning and did 30 minutes. My shoulders and thighs were a bit sore, but it was so much fun that it didn't feel so much like a workout. I do the exercises my "trainer" gives me and then I move on to other things. I love how this game starts out slow so you don't become frustrated.

This Game is a lot of fun..
it make working out fun without making you feel like you can not do anything!
also the comment/review about the balance board not picking up things is false.
make sure you check batteries in the board and also playing it on carpeting will make it a lot less accurate. try in on a more wood like surface!! =] also make sure you have the board faced the right way..my friends always use it backwards just a hint...
hope you enjoy it as much as i have!

I got this game because of good reviews and I was not disappointed. Even though you are standing in one spot most of the time, you definitely work up a sweat as you go on. Its a challenge to keep the beat and throw the punches in the order they say when you hit the harder levels. I have bought several exercise games for the Wii and have forsaken them all right now for this one!

I loved the boxing on the Wii Fit so this appealed to me. Now I am addicted and have almost abandoned the Wi fit for Gold's Gym. I'm a 62 year old grandmother. I can't wait to do this every day. The variety keeps me interested - choose a trainer, new outfits, music, and a setting. It tells you what percentage you've accomplished as you go, You can pick your workout or one will be provided. It's so upbeat. When I finish a Shape Boxing session it gives me a workout age - most often iit says I'm in my 20's. Sweet. You punch a daily calendar - if you get over 1000 punches it will give you a "great" for the day. That's my goal. Not too sure about the old knees for the ducking and weaving but I've only had it a month so we'll see. Recently purchased the boxing gloves that hold the controllers - they are frosting on the cake. Go for it.

I'll start with the cons. When you initially start the game you've got to learn all the different punches & footwork which is slow and boring. I guess that's something you just have to expect from all games...but it's tedious nonetheless! Onto the pros...once you've learned how to throw punches like a heavyweight champ & you finally get to the workouts you will get a good workout***as with all games - IF you put the effort in.**** If you're just going to stand there flailing your arms around enough to register on the motion sensor then why even bother? Working out isn't fun, but playing games while doing it has made it the most bearable for me...so buck up and throw 'em like you mean it...and you'll get a good cardio workout in for the day!
