To see this again is to feel you are personally saying goodbye to an icon, a master, more importantly someone deeply good and real whom we all grew up loving. "Awakenings", "World According to Garp", "Moscow on the Hudson", even "Popeye"--- yes, even "Popeye", much as he smack-talked it--- all of them are musts, too many to list. But this is my favorite, not just because it's a great film, but because it was the most perfectly tailor-made to him. To watch the key scene, when he at first reluctantly then full-throttle gives an impromptu roadside performance to a bunch of green recruits, is to witness one of those rare movie moments when a performer transcends mere performance and very generously lets us see into his soul. He was insecure, he was needy, he tried-too-hard, he actually cared--- he was the quintessential funnyman of modern cinema. What a wonderful world. Rest in peace Robin.

While I have seen several movies/broadcasts of the late Robin Williams, I have THAT VOICE still in my ears of the Armed Forces Radio Vietnam broadcaster, Adrian Croanour [sp?]. From the oh so many early morning broadcasts of the "GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, VIETNAM" program while on lower Mekong/Bassac River Patrols during my 1 year assignment--JAN-DEC 1967. This DVD is my emotional BOOKMARK of those events--to include the visual and audio memories!

The product was fine as always, and a great price in the bargain bin. I remember seeing this movie in the theater as a kid, with my dad. My dad was a Vietnam vet. This is one of the few Vietnam movies where it's OK to let a younger person watch it, but still get a little grasp of some of the history of the war. And of course Robin Williams will always be a legend, and adds just the right amount of humor to this movie.

This is not only classic Robin Williams but classic Barry Levinson. Made during a decade that was filled with Viet Nam films this one is more of a dramedy. Yes there's lots of funny moments with William's shtick but it's balanced by some very sobering moments without slapping you in the face with heavy political statements.

I saw this movie when I was a kid, and i enjoyed it a lot! It looks really good on blu-ray.

This has got to be one of the best movies Robin Williams ever created. You can tell much of the comedy was improvised and FANTASTIC! The BD is a good upgrade visually. The video is sharp, but be aware, somewhat processed. The audio is well presented but not overly enveloping.

Robin Williams rises to the challenge in this historically based flick. I recall the days of the Army as we wound up Vietnam and headed for the All-Volunteer Army. It was a wacky ride with highs and lows. The scenes in this movie brought all that back.

What can i say but a good movie. Robin gave it his all. Definitely worth a rewatch

Bought the blu-ray version to replace my original DVD copy. Although the 1080p upgrade quality isn't as good as hoped for, it is acceptable as is as the audio quality. The surround sound is used sparingly, but effectively.

This film is why we miss him. The beginning of his film career and he hits a home run with this outstanding performance. The perfect cast, story, and forum for William's talent makes this a must for your video library.

I love Robin Williams! His movie Good Morning, Vietnam; I feel was his best movie ever! Finding this Special Edition dvd will be a great asset in my dvd collection! Buying dvd's here are always great price!

A film that shows why Robin Williams was so special as a actor, this film has comedy and drama a perfect blend of Robin Williams that if your a fan of his work and you haven’t seen this film it’s a must watch.

I love this movie even though it is older because Robin Williams is so funny and was such a moral booster for the armed forces. It makes you laugh and is an all around great movie.

Bought for my dad, he loves this movie but he was having trouble finding it on blu-ray. Luckily Bestbuy had it, and at a great price. So I bought it, and it works perfect.

They just let robin speak in front of a mic saying whatever he wanted for a good chunk of this movie. Always sign of a great performance. Also the rest of this movie is 10/10.

Williams portrays Adrian Cronauer an Armed Forces radio DJ - he keeps the troops entertained, the brass annoyed and manages a relationship along the way.

Robin Williams was absolutely outstanding in Good Morning Vietnam. A great movie that everyone should watch. Maybe the very best movie of Robin Williams career.

A great movie with an amazing performance by Robin Williams. One of those movies that is always wonderful to revisit. Still holds up after 27 years.

…then you'll like this movie. He's a bit over-the-top (as always), but this movie is definitely an 80s classic. If you've never seen it before, you should.
