A film that received six Academy Award nominations. Filmed in black and white to give it documentary like feel. The true story of one of the darkest periods in our nation's history. A period, in which a junior senator from Wisconsin, unjustly indicted groups of American citizens. Calling them Communists and, in many cases, destroying their lives. The film traces the efforts of Edward R Morrow and CBS News to renounce this bigoted Senator, Joseph McCarthy. It is well acted and directed and even more relevant today.

A film that was Academy Award nominated. The story of Edward R. Morrow and CBSs outing of Joe McCarthy and his delusional assault on those Americans he deemed to be Communists and a menace to this country. Without Morrow and CBS, McCarty may have succeeded in destroying the lives of even more innocent people. This movie is relevant and important today.

On of the best historicaly based dramas I've ever watched.

Good movie. David Strathairn, George Clooney, and Patricia Clarkson are great. Terrific cinematography.

This film is so well constructed and so well acted that it almost seems to be a documentary. It covers a time I lived through so I have the advantage of knowing that these performances are spot on. For many of today generation this story of how fear tactics and innuendo were used to destroy lives and careers may seem like fiction but alas this all happened. George Clooney has done us all a great service with this film.
