It took very little time or effort to get Chromecast set up on my UHD TV and stream content from my laptop, tablet or smartphone. All I had to do was plug Chromecast devive into an HDMI input on the TV, pug the power into the wall and download the app to my phone. In a few minutes I had gone through the set up and was streaming content.

I'm trying to use the Chromecast exclusively in my bedroom as we recently moved and I don't have easy access to a coax outlet where I want the TV. It almost works for everything. Once they get Amazon on board and work out deals with more streaming partners it will get another half star. I have to restart it once a week which takes the additional half star. Keep working at it and it can replace my cable all together.

Makes any TV with an HDMI input a Smart TV (assuming you have wifi in the house). I play You Tube and Netflix on it all the time. Great Picture quality (better than my cable non-hd channels). Love it. Great Price.

I owned the old version it was fine apart from a few freeze ups, this new version is great, plug it in follow the instructions on the tv and voila simple as that. I use both the app on an iPad and smart phone it it works great. If you have a good internet connection the picture say from Netflix is crystal clear, I can't fault it.

I was an Apple TV user for 3yrs now. I wanted to get a 2nd one for the basement, but the new Apple TV was $179. The chromecast was just $35 and this little beast does everything the Apple TV do at a fraction of the cost. Only downside is you need a smartphone or computer to stream to the device....

So many apps let me chromecast from my phone. I love that I can now watch YouTube videos on my tv. We have two versions of the chromecast an older version and a newer version. Both still work god and we use them on two tvs. I got a tv for my office and I only use chromecast to save on cable bill.

I don't need any HDMI connection anymore. I can play everything from my tablet or android. It is easy to plug in. I am using a tv connection so I don't have to plug it in a wall socket anymore. Its small really interactive and I love how you can play YouTube on it seamlessly and use your phone as a remote. Amazing idea

Chromecast works great when there's good connection. I was a little disappointed that it doesn't work on all apps and programs. I should've researched it prior to purchasing. However, I would still recommend someone to purchase for their specific uses. It's relatively inexpensive and works great with Netflix and you tube.

All the tv's in our house are smart tv's, but what is special about this product is that you can cast pretty much anything to the TV that you can't get on the tv apps. Also the price is reasonable and worth it. Plus the chromecast is so small and easy to use, you can take it anywhere! Pretty cool device to own!

I puchased this item on sale for my father so he can watch what is on his tablet or phone on his television. I did a lot of research before hand to understand the ease of use and set up. He is very happy with it and it works well. I do have an issue with it having an on/off switch on it.

Setting up the Chromecast was super easy! Nothing to install on the phone or laptop and works like a dream! Wish there were a few more apps and websites that are compatible, but it's already a pretty sizable list so I am super happy with the purchase (especially during Black Friday!)

I wanted to screencast contents from my phone to my TV and this was my first option. I love how easy it is to setup and use. I use it to watch YouTube on my TV. Just connect to a USB port in the back of the tv or to the power outlet, and the other end to the TV HDMI port... Thats it!

This is a useful way to stream tv. Low cost to own, but it does have connectivity issues from time to time, forcing you to reboot the Chromecast or disconnect, then re-establish the connection to your phone. All that said for what it costs, it's a good way to test out whether you're ready to ditch cable. Streaming music from the phone is also fun. We're using Samsung Android phones.

It is a great play through device. I was hoping it had the capacity to download apps and play content directly. I was somewhat disappointed that it has to have another device (phone/tablet) to operate. It works really well and connects easily, there are just times I want my kids to be able to watch something without my phone being used to play the content.

Great little device! The Chromecast is great for quick screen casting among several people. Awesome inexpensive device to throw at waiting room TV's to display your products. It can also be used for group meetings or service center dashboards! I returned mine only because I needed more control and a power for my living room TV without being attached to another device to play content.

While the changes may seem insignificant, they really are quite useable. Being able to seamlessly control the new chromecast from multiple devices is awesome. It's also become more reliable at streaming content without hiccups. Lastly, the device is so much quicker and more responsive to inputs sent to it.

This device was purchased so my wife and I could have some form of entertainment for guests that stay with us every so often. The only thing I would urge people to understand --as easy as this device is to use, one still needs to understand how apps and technology works on a general level. I set up the Chromecast to broadcast in "guest mode" which allows anyone with the Chromecast App to control the device by inputting a 4 digit PIN code that shows up on the television the device is plugged into. It's pretty easy to do, but the user needs to have whatever apps they would like to "cast" on their respective phone/tablet/controlling device. We are thinking about getting a more permanent tablet or netbook to leave in the guest bedroom with a bunch of compatible apps installed so guests do not need to download unwanted apps onto their phones or tablets, but have not yet gotten around to it. It would also be nice in case our guests (parents) do not have smartphones. The product works exactly as intended and has been great for the past month!
