I bought this initially to watch movies and watch Tv shows. The quality was not that great in my opionion, I tried the fire stick and it was ten times better. If looking to buy please try out both to see which one best suits you.

I have had Chromecast before. These were bought to enhance the rest of the house computers by pairing with Xfinity APP. However, the APP does not work with Chromecast on computers. Only with smaller tablets and phones wlll sync with IOS or Android APP.

These are ok, but I like my wireless phones better

I kind of liked the concept of chromecast so I bought one, I thought that the user experience of this device would be so much more fuent but this one kind of disappointed me, though it may still be valuable for $30 for some.

Roku stick gives more options at this price point. If all you want is mirror your chrome screen or android device then it fits the bill. Otherwise your are better off with a more powerful stand alone device that can work without a mobile phone.

I bought this because I wanted to avoid having a separate remote control at home to control the streaming. I liked the idea of controlling it from my tablet. Unfortunately, it isn't compatible with my Amazon Kindle. Had to return it for Roku...

My Chromecast worked for about 4 months, and then I had problems connecting it to my TV. It would play a Youtube video for a few minutes and then lose connection. The device was basically restarting itself while unprompted. I had to contact Google to get a replacement device, which has been working okay for now. I have a few family members with the first generation Chromecast and those seem to be more reliable than the new round ones.

I gave this product three stars only because I could not get it to work with my WiFi, which has a weak signal, so I'm assuming the Chromecast couldn't detect it. Otherwise, I'm sure it would have worked as intended.

i bought this at 5.00 off deal was 30.00. price good, i did it with my old 1080pTV(no smart), the result cannot compete with smart tv, only broadcast youtube to my tv,no any smart fuction at all,so i back it. buy a new upgreat one again

Huge video delay from mac computer . Worked good with iPhone video apps gr at music apps . If your have a mac computer go with Apple TV instead . This item is mostly for windows pc computer

I can’t get the Chromecast to work. It keeps getting stuck trying to update itself. I’ve followed all of the instructions from Google but alas, no luck. I’ve pretty much given up. What a waste of money. Really disappointed.

We wanted to be able to watch movies and shows from our devices on our TV. Because we have Apple products this would not work for us. Took it back and purchased Apple TV. I'm sure this would be a great product for others, just not for us.

Spent hours trying to get it to work. Have older model and it worked for a year or so and stopped. Thought I needed new model. Same problem of not getting connected. Spent hours on phone with chrome cast help and also Samsung (TV brand I have). Samsung then said my 2008 TV was too old. But it had worked with my first Chrome cast device at one time so it is a mystery. Returned it and just use my wifi Blue Ray to get online.

This device does what it claims which is to send media from your phone to your tv/other device. A few years ago it would have rated 5 stars. Now that most modern electronics have the ability buit in, its less revolutionary.

I bought the Chromecast when it was first introduced. When it started having connectivity issues, I decided to purchase a new one - hoping that it newer equals more reliable. It's horrid. I have to shut down my entire wifi network and restart it for the Chromecast to find it and connect. Then I'll finally connect it to the app and get through a show. Next time I want to watch a show though, nothing shows up on my devices list. I have to go through the entire rigmarole again. Not worth the hassle.

Stopped working, changed the HDMi ports, restarted the router Amazon Fire works like a charm, I had only 2 HDMI ports and was working by changing the source. I can not even reset the Chrome even after 60 seconds

According to the employee I could do a screen mirror of my iPhone on my TV. Turns out thats not the case. I guess I need an Apple TV. Even still, the other apps on this are way better than the ones built into my TV.

While buying I thought I could use Google Chrome to operate this. But this device is not supported by the chrome browser of any Apple or amazon device. To use this product which is $20 I won’t buy a $200 device.

Apparently, Google stopped the ability to stream directly from the phone using it's data plan, so you must use a wifi modem/router and a device such as a phone or tablet to use it. Also, I was able to get it connected and communicating via wifi just once after initial set up, then the next time, it wouldn't recognize my device, thus not allow me to connect. Troubleshooting for this issue ate up too much of my time, so I figured it just isn't worth it. Bummer! I'm returning it.

I did not like that you have to download the app in order to use Control that does not have a fast forward or rewind. I did not like that you cannot jailbreak it like you can with the Amazon fire stick.
