Setting up this device couldn't be more simple once you install the Google Home app. It's how every device setup should be, painless! Once that's done, casting Youtube videos to the tv was so easy. I bought and set this up for my mom, even she can now cast videos without my help!

I am happy with the purchase of the chromecast product. It allows me to stream movies to my television, even movies that are new releases. No need to rent from redbox anymore. It is convenient to use. However, it does sometimes lock up while watching, and you need to start it over. That is the only downfall, and can be annoying. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with the product.

I purchased this device when I heard good things and how it can be used using my phone and laptop from my friend... It's an amazing device. I had used other streaming device earlier and felt this much more better than those. I completely stream my laptop screen on tv when I se chrome for anything.

I only used this item a few times but it worked flawlessly. I returned the item because I purchased an Nvidia Shield TV, which has Google Cast built-in and the Chromecast was no longer needed. It seemed redundant having this when I didn't need it anymore but it's very affordable and works very well.

It's Very easy to use and setup. Works on iOS and Android which makes it ideal no matter if you switch platforms. The only downside on iOS specifically some video apps do not support chrome cast, but support AirPlay compared to their same exact Android counterparts which they support Chromecast.

More and more streaming and news apps have chromecasting available. It works flawlessly. I can switch between Netflix, you tube, Reuters, nbc, hbo, etc, and even cast my own photos and videos to the tv. Works with any of my devices and can be setup to work with guests.

Setup was done on an Android phone and an Apple ipad Air2. No significant problems with either one. The Chromecast is worth the money plus I didn't want another remote control as some other devices include remotes. The Andoid and ipad Air work reasonable well as remotes. A decent wifi link is needed for consistent performance. Picture quality is good.via HDMI.

Google did a great job with this product. It's easy to set up and stream videos. I had the older version, and they definitely improved the Wi-Fi range connection. It seems to be streaming a lot better than before. I like this so much that I'm thinking of buying the chromecast for speakers.

Chromecast is very easy to set up. Simply connect the device to the HDMI port, and ac adapter. Use your phone or tablet to stream content to your tv. If you own a 4k tv or plan to buy one anytime soon, make sure that you get the Chromecast Ultra to stream 4K content.

I'm a 60+ cheapskate Luddite reluctant to believe the advertising hype proclaiming how easy this was to install and use. But at a price less than $40, and coming with a $10 gift card, it wasn't worth fretting over. Simplicity itself to install, more tricky to get everything from PC replicated on TV, but well worth the effort. Continues to perform perfectly.

this device is great there are no remotes there is only your phone as the control for this cast and you don't need any HDMI cords because it is attached with one. and you can even stream stuff from you computer straight to your tv. it is a great little device that you plug in and forget!

The product is great - as advertised - for casting shows and movies from apps that work with it on phones, from chromebooks, and from some tablets. It doesn’t work with amazon devices. It has no remote, so less tech savvy people like my 71 year old dad have real trouble using it. For smartphone-adept people it’s fairly easy to use.

Seriously one of my favorite streaming devices of all time. This one has been great. It seems to play Netflix more smoothly than the older model. I don't seem to have issues of odd buffering anymore. Set up is a breeze. I highly recommend this as a quick and cheap way to stream content.

This small device connected to the TV is in constant use in our home. We cut the cord and use multiple streaming services now (still save money each month and have more content). The Chromecast makes watching content form all sorts of apps very easy. Pros: The setup was quick and painless. (except minor issue see cons) The quality of video and sound is great. Reduces clutter as it is tiny and hidden behind the TV Cons: Did not connect on 5ghz until I made changes to my wifi router settings (has to be 20hz not 40hz channel width) Hotel Network connection (or others were a web browser is required) is not possible. Google needs to create some kind of basic browser to allow the validation. Note - make sure you understand this device is not stand alone like a Roku or Fire TV it requires a smart phone, tablet, or computer to "Cast" to it.

I have to admit when I recived my first Chromecast as a gift I didn't think I'd ever use it. Three years later not a day goes by that I don't. This review is for my second and third Chromecast. Truly the best option for anyone who wants to stream video, photos, and music over wifi to any where on there home or business network. I use mine with my iPad and iPhone to push my entertainment collection to tv's all over my house. Paired with Plex media server on my desktop I have access to all my media. Apps like Netflix and Hulu have the ability to push to Chromecast as well. It is extremely simple to plug in and setup but be warned it absolutely requires a smart device running iOS or android there is no control for it otherwise. The new design works even better for tv's that mount close to the wall however a 90 degree Hdmi connection would have been a better update. I got these two on sale 2/$50 but they are completely worth the $35 each regular retail.

I have a smart TV but I don’t like the apps on it. I got this as a suggestion from a friend and really love it! I am able to use my google Home Mini with this to turn on my tv and control what I am watching with my voice. Great supplement to any tv setup!

I got this as a gift for my parents. My Mom is into gadgets. She loves that it is plug and play and connects to her tablet iphone and android phone. I prefer the apple tv box because it has its own remote in addition to airplay. But I would recommend this for a gadget lover.

This product makes viewing programs that I desire to watch more convenient. The ability to watch utube productions, etc. on the big screen is not only convenient, but is enables me to view with greater clarity. It gives me a more fulfilling TV experience.

A large portion of streamable content can connect to Chromecast and that's a big reason to get it. Incredibly convenient when you want to show something on your Android to everyone, like pictures you just took. Its easy to use and relatively affordable.

I originally used a Google Chromecast so that I could cast videos and streaming services like Hulu and Netflix from my phone to my TV. This second generation device is even faster than the first version. Love the convenience and it's very easy to set up.
