I purchased the Chromecast to cast PowerPoints from my 2 in 1 laptop while I carried it around. It worked ok until I got to the slides that had videos embedded into them. At that point it slowed down drastically and skipped a lot. Now, granted where I work the internet is not the best so I’m sure that was past of it but I was very disappointed.

Unit was slow with video and audio not in sync and no resolution.

Got this for one thing: stream NFL Red Zone from my phone to tv. It is not allowed by the NFL. Suck it Goodell

Because Google intentionally crippled this device when introducing subsequent versions that solely require the use of a cellphone to configure setup. When purchased, this originally only required a PC with Google Chrome OR the Google phone app. Now, they decided to take down the browser page, so this is near useless without using a phone even if you don't want to cast from it. I learned that after blowing the dust off it after getting a new TV and trying to set it up according to instructions. The instructions are no longer valid. Money down the drain here. Needless to say, I just don't trust subsequent models from Google considering their actions here. It's Roku or Fire TV Sticks from now on, and I recommend the same to all.

I bought specifically with the purpose of mirroring sports from my phone and it would not allow me to do that.

My main issue was that it doesn't have it's own designated remote control.

My tv is a smart tv, but this can help me access some things on line and use my I-pad or I-phone as a keyboard

I purchased two: one for myself and the other for my friend who's good at such "new" technology things and frequently helps me out. I tried a few times to set up mine, but failed. Then I was waiting for my friend to help, but was told that the one he had already set up stopped working. He tried a few times more and finally decided to give up. So I'll have to return both.

I bought this with the mini projector so I can mirror my phone to the projector watch Netflix and internet

This device does not let me cast just anything from my tablet or phone to the TV. Not the fault of the device, but the fault of the apps on the tablet or phone that block the Chromecast and say you have to use their approved method.

It streams but only on a home wifi. I wanted to stream by connecting to my phone tether internet. Won't work

I had the Google Chromecast when first came out, this one doesn't seem to fix the reconnection issues.

I had intended to unplug from cable. I found the Sony Blue Disc with "smart connect" to be a better choice.

it was working initially 4-5 months extremely good. now its will drop some time in middle.

Great for taking anywhere one travels. Hdmi connection is easy. Netflix hulu etc. Great product at great price

Was able to connect at home but when traveling the connection was very bad.

Cast you tube to t.v. great I love to use my smart phone for casting.

Simple product to setup with home wifi, and connect to phone and laptop. On phone, it mainly works for casting streaming/online content from google apps and a bunch of other apps to your TV. Also works if you want to show pictures and videos you took on your personal phone to TV. While it is not advertised, there are apps available to cast personal media. On laptop, you can cast content from google chrome tabs by installing the chromecast extension.

Only down fall is it will slow down if your Wi-Fi connection is slow And your trying to mirror your screen

This would be so much better if it could cast Amazon prime
