I have this item for a few months now and it is a great device for photos, streaming videos on supported apps such as youtube, netflix, and hulu. There isn't much delay and I stream from my phone (HTC10 and HTC M8) without much buffering wait time. However, there is still a great amount of lag when it comes to streaming from both of my laptops (Dell Inspiron 7000 and Predator 17) even during web browsing. Don't even think about replacing this with a regular HDMI cable if you want to load a movie on your computer and project it to the TV. There are about 5-10 seconds delay between the audio and video that drives me nuts. Overall, this is still a good buy.

I stream a lot of online content, and now it's easier than ever to watch it all on my TV. I just download the app for that content, such as Netflix, and then cast it directly to my TV. The phone is now the remote for the TV. This does not impact the phone battery, as casting it sends the link directly to the Chromecast, so you can even turn your phone completely off and Chromecast will still continue paying the video. It seamlessly streams HD content without any buffering issues. And the best hidden feature is when I click the Cast button from my android phone, Chromecast automatically turns my TV on and selects the correct TV input. This is a great feature, as I no longer have to go looking for my TV remote when I want to watch something. Not sure if this works with all TVs but on mine it works flawlessly.

This product is a great add on if you don't have a smart tv. download all cast as well and you can cast way more than what chormecast allows.

So much better then the Apple TV. Why spend so much money when you can just control everything on your phone? Amazing! Super responsive for a quarter of the price, i dont understand why anyone would want apple tv.

bought this for my son for the holidays and he is using it a lot to stream videos off youtube from his computer onto the tv screen so that the family can view what he is watching as well....very easy to hook up

Easy setup, nice finish and a very nice performance. Too much faster then first version. Must have in your tv.

I used to stream youtube videos from my laptop to my HDTV via HDMI cable,which was very inconvenient and the laptop would heat up.....Chromecast solved this issues.Now I am streaming videos and photos from my tablet or my phone via chromecast; Now I stream news and videos from my portable devices,where you can skip adds and commercials or watch pre-recorded material without commercials.I saved a ton by cancelling my cable,which was flooded with adds and commercials.

Entertainment at it's BEST! Love this product! Turned my TV to a power house! I can flawlessly cast my phones apps to my TV screen and even cast my phone screen ! I'm beyond happy with my Chrome Cast!

I bought my first Chromecast on a whim with a gift card I had no use for. I expected for some minor convenience for when I have people over to my apartment, but I never imagined how important the Chromecast would become to my AV setup. Anything I stream seems to have compatibility, even when streaming videos from Chrome on my Samsung Galaxy. We even use them at work to stream meeting notes and presentations in our boardrooms. The only thing hindering a 5-star review is the occasional loss of connection, but it's not enough of a headache to hinder my use of the device.

I hooked this up to an old denon with an optical cable. Amazing hi-def digital sound. Works great from my Windows computer or Android phone. Great way to take music from the Internet to your stereo.

I use this device daily for my SMART TV for playing youtube or other app. The best part of chromecast is I don't get frustrated when I have to search something on any app in TV. I can cast it from mobile and type in mobile which is much more easy than typing one one char in TV screen. With android device I cast my entire screen and play games which is a wonderful experience. I use iOS and Android both devices to cast apps on my TV. A good and worthy product.

This revamped model worked out most if not all of the kinks from the original model. Its a very useful device to cast just about any app from your laptop, tablet or phone using google's app.

My wife and I absolutely love Chromecast. This purchase was actually our second one since we bought a new TV and wanted one for both televisions. Everyone wants to compare this to Roku, Amazon, Apple, etc but in my opinion you cannot beat the features and easy interface for the low price. It may not do everything high-end Roku devices do nor have the phone tie-ins that Apple TV can offer iPhone users but it does everything we could want. We use it all the time to run Netflix, play Pandora and watch TV shows through network TV apps. There is a huge list of apps that support Chromecast now. For those with Android phones you also have the clone screen option which lets you show things on your phone to people in the room like pictures which is a great feature. Even if you have an iPhone you can still do nearly everything else except clone your screen like the Androids can. For those that have a Smart TV, it may still be worth getting. Our new TV is a Smart TV but doesn't have the apps Chromecast does and I still find it so much easier and faster to run things through Chromecast and my phone than using a remote. Some may view it not having a remote as a negative but I'd much rather use my phone's touchscreen than a remote. I even kept my last model phone just to use with Chromecast so I have a dedicated Chromecast controller. It's nice though your phone can still do other things while casting since the phone app really just tells Chromecast what to do then it pulls the content from the Internet and not your phone. I think it's a great product.

I have always wanted to get a streaming device. Nervous I wouldnt know how to use it properly. Well I was wrong. Very Easy on both my Nexus Phone and my iPad Mini. Great product.

I purchased this product mainly for the mirroring capability for using google chrome. Works like a charm. Once in a while I do have to reset due to some connectivity problems. Unsure if it's my router or the device though.

These things are awesome! I was easily able to update a few older 24" 720p monitors I had in storage and turn them into Smart TVs with these devices. Thanks Google!

My situation is probably unique. I have a Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch TV (2008). On this TV, the HDMI and USB inputs are pretty close to the COAX antenna input. My COAX is good quality, but not top of the line. With the Chromecast plugged in, I lose channels and have streaking on the strong ones (NBC, FOX, CBS etc). I have noticed that anytime I take the Chromecast HDMI magnet near the COAX, my TV has trouble with channels. There is interference on the channels if Chromecast is powered via the TV USB. Something for you to watch out if you experience poor OTA reception on the TV.

For those in the Android ecosystem, Chromecasts are more than worth the reasonable price. The experience is pretty seamless across almost any compatible app.
