Best purchase I made for my TV was getting this chromecast. There are apps with my tv but it is easier to just cast from my phone or ipad. Also I was not able to put a cable box near my tv / in the same room, so I have been casting from my desktop to my Chromecat / TV. I do like that my TV turns on when I cast something, helps when I might not be able to locate my remote. The only thing that I do not like is that the chromecast does get a little bit warmer than I expect, this could be because it is always powered on.

Can't remember life before having a chromecast! My husband and I could honestly live without cable now that we have this device! Perfect for streaming netflix, google play movies, and amazon prime. We recently upgraded our internet speed to 5K and all streaming videos are perfect. We have the newer and older model of chromecast and think they are both awesome. We have a chromecast in each TV and you can't even notice its there. Love the promotions when you buy for free movies on google play!!

Decided to get this to use in the living room, really easy to use/ set up and a good price, awesome way to watch netflix, hulu, YouTube, etc. on any tv in the house.

Have a couple of the original Chromecasts and definitely like the design of the new ones better. Use this one in an office setting where multiple people connect on a daily basis. Never have any issues.

I received this as a Christmas gift. I followed the instructions to the letter. I couldn't get it to connect to my iPhone. My brother got it to work with his Samsung Note. The box stated it works with iOS.

I just like the intuitiveness of using your phone for the youtube app with chromecast on a android phone. This alone kills the firestick IMO. You can que up videos much easier using the youtube app on phone rather than typing each video you want to see. I don't know if there is such a feature on firestick but chromecast makes it dang easy to do. That itself gives this product a 5 start. Karoake is so much more fun this way!!!!

i currently own 3 of the fist Generation Chromecast. lead speed has improved greatly. packaging is a bit cheap this year but i'm sure they had to cut the cost somewhere to keep the prices low.

Chromecast is a great little product. It lacks the features of something like appletv but it is 25% the price. From Netflix to Hulu to YouTube to many other apps you can stream some great content. The feature that really pushes the product over the edge is the chrome browser streaming where you can broadcast nearly any file through a web browser or stream video off a site. You can't beat the product for the price because it makes any tv that does not have smart tv features, instantly have the features that you can pay so much extra for otherwise.

Very easy to setup and works great for viewing things from my phone to TV. Definitely worth buying

The 2nd generation chromecast is a very good product and is particularly good with casting. It's also very important that people buy the new Chromecast, as it is significantly faster both processor- and connectivity-wise.

I received this as a gift for Christmas, and it is easily one of my favorite things I have gotten. If you don't have a smart TV that has built in apps like Netflix or Spotify, you should definitely get this. You can easily control this with your phone or laptop, and the setup takes all of 5 minutes. So much easier than connecting your laptop to your tv with an HDMI cable. Highly recommend.

It does everything you could want, for a cast device, but does not cast from windows media player, or windows programs. there is a lot of free ware that you can get that will play all movies and mp3, so is not a problem really. it worked the first time and every time since my step son is 5 and it simple enough for him to get on my laptop pick one of his movies and cast it to the tv without any help

Guess all I need to say about this is, yes it is exactly as good as everyone else says it is. Connects very easily, even with your 5G band (which is a bonus). You can connect the USB power to any wall outlet or your TVs own USB port. I love Chrome browsers ability to cast any tab or any desktop, so you are not bound to just Chromecast apps. So even though Amazon does not want to allow Prime Video app on Chromecast, you can just cast the whole tab. Works like a charm

I bought this for my son because he has an older tv without any of the 'smart' features. It has worked great to give him access to netflix and other services.

It works well. Setup is easy and it works with most video apps. I just wish it worked with Amazon video!

I just love been able to cast to the tv almost any video, and new been able to cast the whole desktop, it just amazing. love this little pod.
