I bought this as a gift for my husband...he is very happy with this little device..it was easy to set up and get started

if you have a smartphone and don't want the big expense for an apple tv or roku this is a great solution for streaming

Easy to use for casting screen using phone and laptop. Even it works good for sharing desktop also. Only drawback is that app's can't be installed.

Purchased this essentially for the 5 GHz compatibility. It has not disappointed. Better video, less buffering.

Did not have previous Chromecast. This one works seemlessly with sevral devices in my house and very easy to setup.

The new Chromecast finally is fast and convenient enough to cast my pc screen to the tv without noticeable lag.

Super easy to install and use. So many apps have the cast feature so you have alot of options.

Great idea, but lousy implementation. I pre-ordered mine directly from Google and after a month of fighting with Google trying to get it working as advertised it has been delegated to the drawer of misfit toys. Promoted as a " poor man Sonos that turns any speaker into a wifi speaker" . Yes, well a Droid Bionic is also a poor mans Galaxy S6 ,by those standards. Constantly loses WiFi connection, won't stay synced with the streaming device for more than 2-3 songs. If you can get it to stream for more than 2 or 3 songs it loses sync and you can't stop the music. Even shutting down the streaming device doesn't stop it. Only option is to powercycle the Chromecast. With no memory powercycling it means you are forced to go through a hard factory reset and reconnect it to your wifi. Google's only advice is to only use it with the included power brick and cable, the 6" audio cable and the streaming device, speaker, Chromecast and router all within 10' of each other. Of course even doing that it still freezes up and loses sync. So great if you want to plug your speaker into a 6" cord ,have it sitting on your desk next to your router, than you're all set for Chromecast. Calls to Chromecast support are met with a " Sorry the product is too new ,we don't know anything. Have you checked out the help forums? " Requests for a warranty replacement go unanswered or even acknowledged . Detrimental posts in the Google help forum about problems get flagged by the moderators and locked. We've had a Chromecast V1 for years. It is 30+ feet on another level through a brick wall from the router. plugged into the 1amp USB port of the TV. Yet it has never once lost WiFi, sync or frozen up and crashed. If you really want a $30 wireless speaker there are plenty of bluetooth receivers and speakers out there that will outperform this in every way with a lot less headaches.

A friend recommended me buying a chromecast to use with my tv and she was not wrong. Works perfectly for me.

What more can be said for the Chromecast? They're ridiculously cheap for a ridiculously amount of utility. Everyone should have one. Perhaps disappointingly, however, a lot of the exciting features that make it feel so "futuristic" and convenient require additional hardware (a TV with CEC, a google home, a newer Android phone, etc.) but even without the right stuff, it's super convenient and worth every penny.

i can cast anything from iphone to my TV. More options than the original chromecast. Cheaper than Apple TV

I have one on every TV in my house. Not lower cost option to start streaming in a household. Easy to use.

I tried this but connection for Amazon Prime was complicated and looked like a pain. I got a cheap Roku gizmo and it works great with no hoops. I use the Roku on my man cave TV for Amazon Prime and Youtube. This does have direct connections for Netflix and Hulu Plus, but I have no use for them. With an excessive number of TV channels on cable, what more do I need?

I like these chromecasts, they allow me to send a lot of content from my PCs to my TVs. I only recently discovered these, and how they work although I'd heard of them. If you have a very recent TV, it may already have an alternate casting technology - I also discovered that when I was getting ready to add it to my new 4K TV... I found the new TV already on the list of castable TVs. So check your TVs before you buy!

Easy to set up and nice that it now comes with an extension cable.

Bought this as a mother's day gift since my mom has an older HDTV without smart features. She loves to watch YouTube and can now enjoy it from her couch on a big screen versus sitting at a computer. I have the original ChromeCast and this one seems to work just as well but I believe this one supports higher resolution. Works as advertised and a great way to get internet content if your HDTV is not a smart TV with those features built in.

The chromecast is a great device to stream anything you can watch/do on your mobile device to your TV.
