This is basically just a wifi media hub, not a smartphone miracast device. Bought it with the intention of using it to screen mirror between my phone and tv since I don't have regular home internet. It does say you can directly cast from the phone to it, which it might, but I really have no idea since it literally requires a separate internet and wifi connection to set it up. And even under normal use, it seems like it never actually receives anything from your phone, it streams everything from the internet over your home wifi and your phone is just an expensive remote control for the device. If you already have home internet but your tv isn't a "smart" tv with built in wifi and streaming apps, this would actually be a handy device, but there's better stuff out there for that. If I can find the receipt, this is going back.

I bought it for my sister and brother-in-law for the holidays. Now, they can cast movies to their TV.

I use this in my office to cast work on a 3rd screen it works great

Bought this for the sole reason of streaming Netflix and Hulu in my apartment dorm due to the horrible quality on my computer and tablet. I also planned on using it when I go on long trips with my horse team. Unfortunately, it does not work on public Internet connections, as there is no way to sign in. I will be returning it tomorrow in favor of the Amazon Fire Stick
