I purchased this product so i could watch movies on other tvs in home and it works great

even started taking this with me to do presentations

I got 4 of these things so what does that tell you.

Look up the hundreds of threads on the Google product forums. There are a couple of threads from 2014 that are still updated by users who have the same exact problem almost 3 years later with little to no help from Google. I am one of the unlucky few that have this problem and Google still refuses to do any sort of a refund (bought from the Google store) because they believe all of these cases are based on the router/smartphone even with everyone have a different combo. The majority of reviewers seem to have no problem but if you are unlucky you won't get any problems fixed.

I have been using the first gen Google Chromecast for more than year. Bought this one for family. But I don't see any perceptible changes in performance over the first gen. May be if I have a dual-band wireless router, I might see some improvement. The device looks better than the previous version in terms of appearance though.

Same as the previous version slightly better than the 1st...using it at home or work two different providers strong signal Chromecast drops streams repeatedly very frustrating ...I ordered a HDMI cable that connects straight from my phone works way better but yeah not wireless but at least no signal issues

Still playing around with it. Bought it for my son to use so not all there yet.

The only thing that sucks about this is that mirroring is not an option for iPhone's

We use it almost daily especially in the room we don't have cable and we love it

My only problem with this is that one app I use doesn't always connect properly.

Great...Can watch our favorite shows in HD show rather than smartphone/tablet

Has occasional static when using it while driving but overall good clarity.

I'm not sure if my internet connection is the problem but every now and again my chromecast requests that I set it up again. It's always plugged into the same television so I'm not sure what causes the problem but it can be frustrating at times when I don't feel like going through the setup process again.

Worst product I've bought in recent memory. Worked fine initially, or so I thought, but after a couple weeks I noticed that frequently when Netflix paused between episodes I was unable to reconnect my phone to the Chromecast. Conveniently, this became a problem right at the end of Best Buy's horrible return period of a mere 15 days. Eventually, I was having to restart the device every single time Netflix asked me to continue watching. Today, after about a month of continuous frustration, I threw it away and am buying an Amazon Fire Stick. I wish I had just directly thrown the $35 in the garbage and then bought a Fire Stick day one, would've saved me weeks of frustration.

I enjoy the flexibility of using this product anywhere or anytime.

Good deal for the price. My WiFi connectivity issues goneeeeeeee
