Occasionally drops signal but could just be our Internet signal

We love that we don't need the wire to use our tablets on tv.

I've never once gotten this to work right away. Every single time I want to cast, I have to doa complete setup from the beginning. The screen will show the right name, network, pin - the phone will say, no devices found. Or, the phone will say it's casting, and the TV has a black screen, or screensaver. It takes at least 3 tries and 30 minutes to get it to work. I also have an Amazon firestick on another TV and it works perfectly every time, just turn it on and it works.

needed an extra google chromecast for the living room.

Must have for any living room setup. Its just fun!

won't stream and errors constantly. I would love to actually enjoy this, but apple tv is way better and doesn't require 100 BS apps to work poorly

Works just okay, kinda choppy & laggy. Since this device works off your phone or tablet, it does not seem to work as quickly and streams in a lower quality. If you are on a budget or use android this may be better for you, but I exchanged.

Works great with phones and tablets apps such as vudu or Netflix but has a horrible lag when casting from your iMac 2015 . Wouldn't reccomed if that's what your trying to do

drops wifi signal all the time, making it difficult to use. only been able to use it once. maybe i need a stronger wifi router , but my laptops and iphones work ok from the same spot.

you can purchase this device only if you want to use with android phone otherwise I prefer roku 2 is much better and faster for tv streaming

When I purchased the original Chromecast a couple of years ago, it was fantastic. One click "threw" my laptop screen onto the TV no trouble. After a few months the software got less responsive but was otherwise OK. Then the power supply failed, so we bought a Chromecast II. Due to "upgrades" to the Chromecast software, it no longer single click casts for Facebook (it's 3 steps now) & takes FOREVER to cast from Chrome. Secondly, it needs to be rebooted MULTIPLE times a day as it will freeze and just stop allowing anything to cast to it. We've actually plugged it into a remote on/off switch because it hangs up THAT often. Finally, after just a few month's use, the power supply on this Chromecast II also failed. It serves a purpose, but it's junk both on the component level & the software. It needs a complete overhaul to make it decent again.

All it does is lose the video or lose the audio. It takes me 2.5 hrs to watch a 2 hour movie. just watch on your computer.Save the aggravation. And I am usually really good with this stuff.

The Chromecast definitely does what it's supposed to and works great, BUT! When I checked my data usage it used twice the amount my Wii does when watching Netflix or Hulu

Constant freezing and delays trying to watch Netflix. Can't watch it. DVD player with Netflix using same WiFi connection had no issues. Waste of money on something I can't use.

We wanted someway to view things from the tablet to the tv- this works. Only problem is that it can be choppy streaming and a bit behind in time.

I had the impression that this new model isn't so stable like the old one. Now and then it doesn't find the signal and keeps trying reconnect.

Not a proper streaming device. I would say this still needs a lot of improvements with the performance & compatibility.

In my opinion, this device should be powered by the USB it's plugged into and shouldn't need external power source.
