good price, not expensive, easy to setup with my phone and 55" sony tv, very clear picture and sound, hdmi quality video, now able to watch Netflix on tv just by using my phone

I have used a pair of the original and like them a lot. Decided to give the new one a try, especially with the Google offer of $20 Play Store credit. I have not noticed much of a difference but I do not have 802.11ac. Chromecast is inexpensive and awesome at what it does. I stream locally video and audio and use it for Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, etc on my TV. I like the usability way better than some "smart" TV's because I use my phone or tablet as a remote. It is much easier and faster when you need to type in a search box. The only issue there is that sometimes I loose the connection between Netflix and the Chromecast. In that case the video is playing but the "remote" is not functional and you need to reestablish the connection. This is a hassle, especially if you just need to pause.

I've tried several video players with less than satisfactory results. The Chromecast works beteer than the others I've tried. Features I like include being able to control the video from both my laptop and smart phone. My only quarrel with it is that it sometimes doesn't pick up the cast from the device. This has proven to be a minor irritation and is usually remedied by reloading the program or just refreshing the screen. It works with any app that you have on your device, something some of the others don't do.

I stream from my iphone and my laptop perfect. You just plug it into your TV USB and the power HDMI etc etc. Connect to WiFi from your phone with bluetooth ( the cast comes on when you turn TV on after you plug it in ) After that use google chrome from your laptop or download chrome from Iphone and through Chrome you click share and it will mirror whatever is in your browser. I'm sure some things like youtube or maybe app's also come with it, but I dont use those. I just use chrome and click share in the upper right hand corner. Streams my tv shows and phone no issues ever.

I finally bought the chromecast though I have a smart TV. This casts super fast compare to loading apps from the TV's app store. Excellent and simple to use.

i have yet to buy a smart tv but this is a great solution for watching internet content on my 'dumb' (not internet connected) tv. easy setup and easy to use

Why keep cable! With the chromecast you can watch anything from your phone straight to your tv. Anything from nexflex shows to YouTube videos. I love it, I use it everyday.

easy set up, just plug in and its almost ready to go, very fast and its good it is a dual band so i used the 5 ghtz. i preferred using the chromecast instead of my samsung JS9000 tv smart features because it works with most app on my android phone and tablet, great devise highly recommend it. this is my third chromecast i had two of the first generation on my old two non-smart tv, and they still work great.

This is a great product for cord cutters, very easy to setup, very family friendly, works with everyone's phone (both apple and android). Very pleased with this product.

Works very well with my pixel xl and with my ipad(casting app). serves my purpose, quick setup and exceeds my expectations..I would definitely recommend.

I used the enclosed usb cable to get power from the television itself instead of the provided power supply. This made for a clean hidden setup which I was looking for. The entire device can hide behind the TV without plugging into an outlet. Easy to setup...it walks you thru the process. I did it using my cell phone when required. You can use a tablet or laptop as well. Seemlessly links to Google home app as well. I mostly will be using this to cast pictures from my google cloud account. My other Google devices all detected this unit without a problem. Great product.

For the money you can't really beat it. You don't have to buy a new tv you just plug this in and boom you got yourself a smart tv!! Cant go wrong with this product. it just sucks if you have a iPhone you can't cast ur screen on it but other then that you can use it for Youtube, Netflix, HULU, Music apps. Just connect to the wifi and ur ready to use it. Also very easy to set up and connect to.

Best Deal I noticed in these months. As usual chrome cast is one of the best streaming device I found beside apple TV. I would recommend for this price.

I was a bit hesitant to buy one of these since gen 1, but seeing as they had a deal going on I decided to give it a try. Knowing that my family and I live far from a red box and don't have the money for a smart tv,this turned our older HDTV into one. And the ease of use is great. We just rent a movie online and pick to stream to the device connected to our TV. We also learned that if the TV is off we can still select to stream there and it'll turn it on for us (we lost the TV remote a long time ago) so that is nice to have. Over all it is a great device and I'm thinking of getting a second one as well.

I have a chromecast on every TV in my house and they work flawlessly. It makes it super easy just to throw something from your phone to your TV for myself and guests.

Connection and setup of Chromecast couldn't be easier. Had no trouble installing app on iPad, laptop and Android tablet. Great picture quality and flawless streaming.

I bought this as a gift for both my dad and my boyfriend. It is small and only two speakers but it's just right for a smaller space. It is easy to connect and control.
