Affordable Unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using the old version for more than year and a half. Both models work good. This entertainment unit is priced very well and work better than other competitors.

Excellent product for a excellent price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first i was extremely reluctant to purchase this item. For one simple fact i was buying it as a gift for my father, now don't take this the wrong way i love my father, jowever if i get him something that can make his life easier it makes my life harder. And then i was dreading setup. An then explain how to do it for himself and then still not be able to do it. But he want to get away from cable and satellite because it costs to much. So i went ahead and got it. But he really to a liking to it setup is a breeze and all i had to show him was how to get more apps. Other than that hes done on his o

Fun addition to tv viewing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great for streaming music as well as watching Netflix on our big scream tv. It's easy to install and use. The cell phone becomes the remote. Love it!

Chromecast better than ever
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using the first Chromecast, since it came out I decided to add a second one. Easiest way to stream to dumb TV's. Just make sure you have an extra hdmi input.

One of the Cheaper Options for Streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast is a bit different than other streaming devices like the Roku or Amazon Fire in that your phone or tablet is the remote control. Any app that has the Chromecast logo in it can "cast" the video and audio, then the Chromecast takes over the streaming duties. The Chromecast contains no apps, and there's no home screen. It's quite a bit different than traditional TV and not for everyone. It integrates nicely with a Google Home. If you set up the Chromecast to control the TV (turning it on and switching input to Chromecast), you can tell Google Home "play Stranger Things on the big TV" and it knows Stranger Things is on Netflix and will start playing the next episode on the specified TV.

Inexpensive and Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You get your bang for the buck with the chrome cast. Setup is really easy. I mainly use it for Netflix, which works well but sometimes disconnects.

Pretty good streamer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It doesn't do screen streaming on my iPhone like I would've hoped. It does stream stuff from my PC via google chrome which is good. Has initial laggy hiccups but it evens out pretty quick. Not a bad price for this.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Took me a little while to get it setup, the instructions are not the best. Works super, we can watch Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu from our iPad or computer on the TV. Super good for not a lot of $$.

Perfectly convenient
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a college student and I use my laptop for all of my homework and my phone is just too small to really enjoy Netflix so my friend suggested I get the Chromecast and it has been great, I can stream Netflix, Hulu and YouTube straight from my phone and I can still use my phone while steaming. Chromecast was incredibly easy to set up and I keep it plugged in all the time and can just press the stream button when I want to watch it on my tv. Also it doesn't have any huge impact on my phones battery percentage which is great. All in all I really love my Chromecast and would suggest it to anyone.

Very useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup is easy and quick. It's very useful for a lazy person like me to watch my favorite anime on my TV when I don't feel like turning on my HTPC.

Good streaming at a reasonable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to install and use. Integrates well with the rest of my TV based devices. Provides relatively quick access to channels although search is a bit awkward using the provided remote. A good value for the price.

It's great for streaming at an affordable price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google's Chromecast is extremely simple to use. Just plug it into an available HDMI port on your television, provide power through a micro-USB port and connect to it using any PC or mobile device that you have (compatible with both Android and Apple) as long as they are connected to the same wifi network. I stream from Netflix, HBO Go, and from movies I have loaded on my PC. Sadly, Amazon doesn't support it natively. However, I can cast from a Chrome browser. It works very reliably.

An Essential Component
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well as a smart HDMI input, with great integration of Netflix, YouTube Pandora and other streaming services. My favorite feature is the screen mirroring from my PC or phone. The screen saver feature works with my Google Photo albums and adds other photos that are in context with where I've visited. Freaky, but in context. I own three or four, keep one in my PC bag and have given away several as gifts. Just recently got Google Home Mini and now can speak commands like "pause" or "go ahead 20 minutes" and my Chromecast immediately obeys.

Great Price. Fun for the Whole Family.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the 1st Gen Chromecast and used it all the time with no problems. I would tend to take it with me anytime I was leaving for the weekend to my wife's parents place. It took my wife's parents no time to learn how to cast to the TV and they loved how easy it was to stream anything from your phone to the TV. I did the right thing and ended up giving my Chromecast to her parents. Sad to see my Chromecast go but now I would have the excuses I needed in order to buy the 2nd Gen Chromecast. It worked out great and my wife finally said I could get another Chromecast instead of her usual "No, you don't need to buy another one when you already have one". So that is the story of how I upgraded to Chromecast 2nd Gen. Ohhh yea, I'm supposed to be reviewing Chromecast. Anyways, I was sold for life on Chromecast when I could still use my phone normally even when using it to cast to the TV. You don't have to worry about not using your phone or notifications popping up on the TV when you're casting. I have an apple TV as well as ChromeCast and I use ChromeCast far more then Apple TV. The features on the Chromecast are great and its at a great price point. Plus, it is easy on the pocket book and it doesn't require a second Mortgage or your first born. 10/10 - would give away another Chromecast to wife's parents again so I can have an excuse to purchase the New Gen Chromecast.

Good when it works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this device to stream YouTube and Netflix directly to my TV without needing to constantly bring my Wii U upstairs and go through the process of taking my TV off the wall to plug in the HDMI every time I wanted to watch stuff upstairs. The setup was extremely simple, just plug it in, download the app, and follow the instructions. Once I figured out how to navigate the features of the apps that allow you to stream, I was instantly watching stuff. The problem is that every few days the app on my iPad will completely forget the Chromecast exists and can't find it, which means I can't stream stuff to it. To fix this, I have to reset it every time it can't find the device. But to reset the device I have to unplug it from the TV so I can hold down the reset button, which requires me to take down the TV from my wall at least once a week. I'm sure this won't be a problem for anyone who has their TV on a stand, but it's still an extreme inconvenience to have to remove it, hold the button for half a minute, and then go through the whole setup process every time I sit down to watch a few videos. This would probably not be a problem at all if the device had any sort of built-in applications you could navigate through by remote, but you have to do everything from inside whichever app you want to use on your phone or tablet. You kind of get what you pay for, but you're still paying quite a bit.

Maximize your HDTV experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of my favorite tech purchases that I have ever made! I use my 55" HDTV for so much more than just watching TV thanks to my Google - Chromecast. Having just returned from a cruise the week that I made my Chromecast purchase I was able to broadcast all of my pictures and videos on a 55" HDTV and show them to my friends and family rather than show them on my 6" phone screen. Installation was a breeze even for a non-tech savvy guy like me! Plug it in to your TV and download an app to your smartphone to broadcast. It's that simple.

Fantastic and Easy to Use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You easily set this thing up through your browser or Chromecast app on your phone and bam the whole house can share instantly. It turns on the TV for you when you need it and you just have to set it when you want to watch something. Not only that, Youtube can queue videos for you and all the major apps are supported. Pandora when you're cooking and Netflix when you're bored. Its great.
