The Google Chromecast works great to share your phone or PC on a bigger screen. Why wouldn't you want to cast to the TV instead of trying to share a PC or phone screen? All around easier to see. Many more capabilities if you want them. 50 inch photo frame? Better sound for your music? Inexpensive enough to give it a try.

I bought this a couple days before I found a Nexus player for 75% off. I knew the Player offered some more features (i.e. gaming), but assumed it would also just operate better. Chromecast is better. I have an old one, and now a new one (this one I'm reviewing). Both simply can't be beat for streaming things from your computer, tablet, or phone.

Need good strong WIFI to run. If so very easy set up and picture looks just as nice as real cable

For weeks I thought about what type of box I should get for my TV to watch content from my phone, laptop etc. I opted for a Chromecast instead of the more expensive apple tv or roku box and I haven't regretted the decision. Seamlessly casts whatever media I'm playing with no lag over my home network. My only regret is not getting one sooner.

We really like our Chromecast. We had been watching a lot of shows online off of our computer---but we had to string a long HDMI cable from computer to the TV to do it. Not any more! Easy to use. We have it set up on our smartphones now too--so we can instantly share funny videos on the big screen instead of crowding around our phones/laptop.

Very reasonably priced device works just as good as Apple TV

The Chromecast is perfect for TVs to stream your online subscriptions. The only set back is that it does not support Amazon Streaming (Understandable). If you rely on Amazon Prime, then I would buy the Fire Stick or Roku.

This product works great if you don't want to spend the money on a game console or blu-Ray player just to stream and watch Netflix,Hulu,NFL app and you do it all from your phone. Only down side is that if you have iPhone you can't stream your home screen like androids but not a big deal to me just pull up iTunes on computer and show them.

I own two 1st generation chromecast sticks and they have performed very well over the years. I chose to pick this new version up because it has stronger antennas and frankly, nothing else separates the hardware from the previous generation. I like that this one comes in colors but, at the time, only black was available. The shape of this new version is well suited for those who want to hang the chromecast behind the TV - The previous generation is like a large thumb drive that sticks on the side of the tv if there is not enough clearance between the TV and the wall to utilize a hidden USB port on back of the TV. I have casted from a chromebook and smart phone to TV and from two computers in adjacent rooms with no issues on loss of signal or buffering. While I am still using the original version in an office, I have replaced the one in the family room with this newer version and relegated the "extra" stick to one of the teenager's room. If you need a chromecast, this works as expected and highly recommend it if you like to stream live content or movies from laptop/phone to TV. It works well to surf the web from your couch on the big screen while sharing with family and friends.

I have had the original since it came out and when this one was introduced, I picked it up for my brother to share videos at home from all of their devices. Instead of everyone huddling around a small mobile phone screen to watch a youtube video, they now send everything to their tv to enjoy. A must have for lovers of online video sharing.

I love using my Chrome Cast because it connects to me phone easy and I can watch my favorites shows and pause whenever I want. Plus, I can mirror my phone to the t.v. I have a greater variety to mirror what I want to share with others around me :). It is user friendly, my nephews also enjoy it and very easy to install. I love my purchase.

This was actually the third Chromecast that I've bought, loved it since the first one and still do. The added benefit of getting to control it with my voice (through my Google Home Mini) is definitely a huge plus, and was super simple to set up with the Google Home app (which I use to set up my Chromecasts anyway).

I recommend this item to anyone interested. This the best one so far. Every one i show it to wants one . So many options. I fav is downloading movies to my phone and streaming them to the chromecast. You can send music and photos its wonderful. God bess Google for this.

The newest version of the Chromecast supports faster Wifi speeds finally that make a difference in streaming from my phone and laptops. I always take a Chromecast with me on vacation so I can use my phone to stream Netflix, movies that are on my phone/laptop, or channels from my cable subscription. I'll probably be buying a 2nd one soon

I also have the original chromecast. Got this one for the 5Ghz network support. The firmware had problems seeing the 5Ghz network and I finally got in touch with Google support and we figured it out after about 30 minutes trying. I feel quite certain that they have updated the firmware by now (I purchased about 3 months ago) and this probably works fine. Other than that, it works great and does everything I want it to do.
