    If you have a standard television with a hdmi port then you can easily give it smart features, such as streaming from various media sites / apps like youtue, netflix pandora & a whole host of others. if you are vested in the google ecosystem and have a google home or a google assistant cable device you can use voice features to launch media to your tv. Another bonus is if you have an hdmi port that has CEC or ARC Specification you Chromecast can turn on your TV and launch the applicatlion.
