First thing. You have to download apps for each service onto a tablet or phone that has a min requirement version of android. Unfortunately the tablet I wanted to pair to use only have android vers 4.1. So I had to set it up with my phone. You have to download each app onto your phone and depending on the static memory (if you dont have an external microSDHC inserted) they might take a lot of memory. My personal use is that the firestick was more intuitive where you search movies and it appears offered by different services (apps) and prices. The chromecast you have to open each app and see what they offer and price. The most important aspect of "cut the cord" TV is that NOTHING is free. Even the "free" movies are at least 10 years old and there are still commercials and more annoying they are the exact commercials over, OVER and OVER again, This review is only using the Chromecast for 2 week so there might be better things but most channels ask for login and service provider which defeats the purpose of have this item. If I was paying for cable TV why would I ever need to pay for a device like this, The basic use would be that you pay for apps that you use which might be less than you would pay for cable. For example HBOnow is $ and Hulu is $ and Netflix might be $ which added together would be less than what you pay monthly. Maybe.

all you need is to have chrome installed and you are good to start streaming from any device to chromecast.

Easy hook up and sync with tablet or cell phone, but streaming video sometime slow and see pixel images.

We needed the ability to stream an internet browser to our TV as our didn't have the option and this fit the bill. The built in apps on the TV are OK, not great and we found Hulu buffers much less using Chromecast+iPhone. We have not exhausted all of the features, but for what we use it for, it's perfect.
