Awesome Streaming

We were planning on getting another Roku, but the sales associate recommended the new Chromecast. Anything you can plan play on your phone or Chromebook can now be cast tothe TV. Any phone on the network can actas a remote, so there's no remote to lose!

Chromecast is good, but not quite great yet.

The units for the most part work pretty well, but the interface is a little glitchy. On several occasions, the unit will stop responding and require a hard restart. I think most of the problem lies in the Google Home app. Overall it works, but just be prepared to have some frustration on occasion.

A little difficult to set up.

The WiFi connection was slow to recognize several Samsung Cell Phones in the house on set up and occasionally takes a few minutes to connect. Pictures from the cell phone display well on the TV. YouTube videos take longer to load into the Chromecast and start to break up if the video is long. Chromecast does not display as high a resolution as the TV can accept.

Wonderful window to streaming video to TV

However when using it at RV park, it failed to connect with wifi and tablet. I think it's a function of multiple channels (ip addresses). So unless tablet and chromecast are on same, wouldn't connect. Despite this, still recommend for home!

Much better than the original Chromecast

I'm a longtime Chromecast user and I have to say that the Chromecast 2.0 gives you a better casting experience than the original Chromecast or ANY Smart TV. Most of the people I know with Smart TV's use the Chromecast 2.0 instead of the built-in Smart TV features built into their TV's.

You might not expect something so useful

The interface and speed of the device does not bring any instant satisfaction, but for the affordability you get a lot of value of functionality. Whether you are deciding between a 1080p or 4k Chromecast, you can't go wrong either way.

We can watch on our TV!

Sure we could watch them on my husband's laptop, but the screen is too small. All we had to do was plug in the Chromecast and the show now appears on our 55" TV. Well worth the money in our book.
