    I had the older chromecast and I needed to upgrade to this one just so I can have the capability of connecting it to my 5Ghz wifi for better performance. But I was also amazed by how much faster the processing is for this product compared to the previous version.

    While I do have a Mac, the fact that the Chromecast can support mobile phones, tablets and Macs makes this a more versatile product than AppleTV. The costs is less and while Apple has a lot of programming built in, many of the programs we watch are streamed from a browser. Also, this can replace having multiple cable boxes in the home!

    I have a google home and pretty much everything that hooks up to it. Lights, thermastate, air conditioning etc. Chromecast was obviously my next pick works ok needs a bit of improvment but have been told it in the works. Get in early tech will be there.

    I purchased the 1st one for my 26 yr old son because he would watch wrestling on Utube on his Laptop now he can cast to his 50" plasma TV. He also casts Amazon Prime video. He loves it. The second one was for my daughter. She is not as excited about it.

    I like this product because it is easy to setup, and the connection between my mobile devices and my TV is fast and do not "freeze". I like it to play music, videos, and movies. Nice interface tool to reproduce on my TV, the streaming applications from my phone and tablet.

    Bought this and thought I could cast to multiple displays from one source. You can, but most by a 12 program (not from them!) that can accomplish this. Would be nice if they came with a remote. Must drive it from a phone or computer..not very stand alone like an apple TV
