FREEZE'S TV SOMETIMES .. ITS BASIC AT BEST... IT NEEDS MORE ABILITY TO STREAM EVERYTHING.

Family uses this every day to cast news and foreign television programs from laptop to large screen. I've had no problems with buffering or disconnecting that I did with an earlier generation Chromecast. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one of these.

Bought this for my daughter at college since her dorm bedroom didn't have a cable outlet. They have campus wi-fi but for some reason the chrome cast wouldn't connect. We had to return it and buy cables to connect her laptop directly to her TV. Problem solved.

Don't waste your money. Get Amazon Fire or a bluray player with a lot of apps.

It's a chromecast. Perfect addition to any non-smart or even a poorly implemented smart tv set-up. Similar to the 1st gen but faster and with better/faster Wi-Fi support. Grab it on sale or in combination with a google home to make the deal even sweeter.

The Chromecast is really a great product. I'm enjoying watching a variety of shows, clips, etc in HD on my TV with this device. The trick is finding the right apps to use (particularly if you're wanting to find free ones). I highly recommend this product.

I didn't really think that I NEEDED a Chromecast, but once I realized all that I could do with it, I am so glad I did. Now, if I want to watch something on YouTube, etc., I can see it on the nice, big screen tv we have instead of a small cell phone screen.

This is a very cool gadget, which allows you to mirror your phone or tablet to your TV. However, my Samsung that I got a year ago doesn't "mesh" well with it I guess, so the picture is not full screen Also, the Comcast app does not allow you to cast to a TV, which was a major reason I bought this. I will be returning this.

I purchased Chromecast in hopes of using it for Mirroring. With the program Airparrot 2, mirroring is now a reality on the Chromecast. Additionally, its ability to pull power from a televisions USB port is convenient if you are looking for a "cleaner" setup.

The thing works really well as it's advertised per the 5 stars, I just didn't do my research good enough to know the cast needs its own wifi network.. making it impossible to use without being at home or hotspotting your phone to it (me at deer camp..yeah)

Does the job for great price. Roku chromecast and Apple TV all have something different to offer with properly correlated price differences. Chromecast difficult UI but cheap, Roku UI friendly but costs more, Apple TV secure and total ecosystem expensive.
