Bought as a gift for daughter

They have campus wi-fi but for some reason the chrome cast wouldn't connect. We had to return it and buy cables to connect her laptop directly to her TV. Problem solved.

From old to gold

If the app is on your phone or tablet, you just "cast" it to your tv. Must have an HDMI port, or better yet a usb slot, because the Chromecast doesn't need to be plugged in, on tv to use.

Smart tv got smarter!

Unfortunately, over the years my favorite apps were removed. Chromecast brought back my favorite apps to use on my tv without having to purchase the newest tv! Awesome upgrade!

If you have Google Chrome on your PC, I am not certain if it can be done with all vids, but I was able to cast from CrunchyRoll and VUDU to my TV and then using the Google Home Mini to control the TV.

So far I am not disappointed.

Good for what it does

The sound is always significantly lower than it would be normally which is a little frustrating. I also had a lot of connection issues at first, but resolved them quickly. Overall it was a solid buy.

Similar to the 1st gen but faster and with better/faster Wi-Fi support. Grab it on sale or in combination with a google home to make the deal even sweeter.

Like having a wireless HDMI

My Samsung TV had this option available, but this supports apple users. It can get kind of laggy at times, and you have to download multiple apps on your phone to get the best experience. It can come useful at a party.

Makes watching streaming TV easy

I'm enjoying watching a variety of shows, clips, etc in HD on my TV with this device. The trick is finding the right apps to use (particularly if you're wanting to find free ones). I highly recommend this product.

However, my Samsung that I got a year ago doesn't "mesh" well with it I guess, so the picture is not full screen Also, the Comcast app does not allow you to cast to a TV, which was a major reason I bought this. I will be returning this.
