I purchased this to be our portable Chromecast. When we go to hotels I setup a phone as a hotspot and the Chromecast automatically connects. Then we don't have to spend the crazy amount of money for movies we really don't care about.

I was very pleased with this purchase. I had previously bought an antenna and was still unable to get all the local channels. After downloading the app, I was able to receive the local channels, as well as a few "cable" channels.

This was a worthwhile purchase! I don't have a cable/satellite subscription, but Chromecast is perfect for Netflix/Hulu/Youtube! Unlike an HDMI cord, it allows you to do other things on your computer/phone as you're casting, which is the best part!

Works as expected and I have the Google home mini and Chromecast and Phillips hue lights all paired together so I can turn my tv on and off and my lights with my voice and tell it what songs to play hooked up to my tv and sound system

Works great and just as expected. Great on any TV.

I love the ability to stream from my phone, but there are limitations to the Chromecast. I wish they would partner with Roku to integrate the systems for a smoother interface and better user experience. But, for now, the Chromecast does an acceptable job even if it can be a bit slow and has limited applications.

I have all apple propane didn't want to spend the extra money for the Apple TV so I opted out for the fire stick and I hated it besides not being about to cast or use the mirror function I decided to go with the chromecast and I'm glad I did

This works good for what it is meant for but it will not display all apps from the computer to the screen. It only displays apps that are meant to be used with it. I would recommend it to a friend if they knew exactly what it will display and what it won't.

The chromecast is a great asset for my family. If you ever want to watch a movie/show or listen to music, the chomecast makes it convenient. You can plug it in to any TV with an HDMI input and cast anything from your phone or tablet to the TV

How much use you get from this device ultimately is determined by the amount of streaming services you have as it supports a whole range of them, however with just a rotation of Youtube, Hulu & Netflix I have been pretty set entertainment-wise!

Original was OK but not great. The new one is slightly better but not by very much.

I like it other than having to switch my tv to HDMI each time after use.

Great product. I own the older version and now two of the newer versions. It is a sold piece of hardware and functions well with the software. At first the apps were limited but that library seems to be growing with the popularity of the device.

Does not connect easily and not impressed with app

Chromecast original productions are scarce but the best use of this device is to project cell phone photos and vids onto wide screen. Only fault is the need to go through TV or Set Top Box menus to switch back from the source of the Chromecasst

I purchased this item as a gift, and out of curiosity I compared it directly with the previous Chromecast version.Maybe I'm not that tech savy, but I didn't see much of an improvement when mirroring my laptop screen to the tv. Then again, the Chromecast overall is a very reliable and convenient gadget.

I was debating between a few others and decided on Chromecast because that normally what I use on all my systems. I've been able to watch whatever I wanted to, commercial free! My type of tv!

I am finding that it won't "cast" everything from my computer or tablet or phone, like I thought it would. The item/live stream has to be compatible to be able to stream to the TV we have this device on. When it is compatible then it works great!

Good product overall. Only downside is that it isn't recognized as a casting device on windows 10. You must go through google chrome or certain apps to cast. Would be nice if the two systems played well together so I didn't have to install additional apps to use it. Otherwise I am enjoying it and it works well.
