Went to purchase several cables to be able to cast from iOS and Android to my TV. The sales troppo suggested google cast. It is so simple and great quality and cheap. I will be getting more for other televisions in my house.

My monthly cable bill was >$200/month. Ridiculous! Best Buy tech suggested Google Chromecast as the best option for streaming. He was right. I am 68 years old & figured out how to set up & watch TV using this item.

We haven't used it much..but we know a little about the usage for it.

I got this for a family member. It was easy to install and it connects with multiple devices (android and apple). The video quality when streaming is not the best, but it works for the purpose of showing content to the family.

I use this to stream MLBTV to my 32 inch screen from my Phone/Tablet or Computer. Works so awesome that i bought another for my wife to use for her Screambox on her laptop. Highly recommend if you are trying to cut the cable.

My TV is over 10 years old but works well. I LOVE that i can select something on Youtube or Netflix on my phone or tablet and be able to see on the TV. Unfortunately bad quality movies look even worse on the big screen.

I decided to try this based on a recommendation from a friend. After searching the reviews thought it might be worth a try. Now can't imagine how I got along without it. Only thing sometimes it freezes but that could also be due to internet. Majority of the time works like a charm.

The only thing it has trouble with is casting amazon prime videos but that's on amazon's side not chrome and it can still be done with amazon prime in the browser and then casting the browser of mirroring the screen. Also love the fact that is can play spotify

I remember getting the 1st gen chromecast and how i returned it within the first week. I like the new one not only for the cool design but also the added features like screen mirroring which is something I was looking for.

there are some limitations mostly using chrome browser but it works.

5ghz band is what I use all day, so I was super happy to get this new version. I have the older version as well, and the only reason I got this one is for the 5ghz connection. That's the only thing I know to be different.

I gave this as a gift for Christmas. We hooked it up, and it was not very clear or great quality for You Tube videos. Other than YouTube it worked seemingly fast and for the price it was great. Would suggest getting the Ultra

If you have smart Tv, No need to buy this. Easy to setup.

For me, google chromecast is the best, i prefer using my phones or tablet as the remote. i have 2 first generation for my 2 other tv and they are still working efficiently. This 2nd generation did not disappoint either.

Great product for the money, better wi-Fi in this version provides really consistent connection. My only significant complaint with the first version was it dropped connections regularly with some situations I use this for screen sharing Pandora and a myriad of other applications.

This is great connect in your television and you will be able to watch your movies from your mobile onto your television on a bigger screen less battery drainage and still charge your device while watching u shows and movies

Good but takes some learning with home app kinda glitchy

It's a neat toy, since you can stream to it from Chrome and other apps on various devices. But it gets more difficult to make it work as you stray further from the GoogleSphere, since it does not support the DLNA standard that many other streaming sources use. The other problem is that the video is choppy at times despite a solid wireless connection. They use pre-optimization tricks for some of the content but if the content you want isn't lucky enough to get that treatement, the Chromecast has to work a lot harder to play it, and can fall behind. I think for everyday streaming, the money would be better put towards a more powerful box, perhaps the Chromecast Ultra, or a Roku, or smart Blu-ray player. I still use my 10 year old Sony PS3 for heavy streaming.

It is little bit slow than the amazon fire tv I exchnged for later.

I came to best buy looking for a device I could use to stream my photos and videos wirelessly from my iPhone to my television or projector so I could share them with my family. I knew that the Apple TV device would work, but for the limited usage I foresaw I couldn't justify spending $150-200. A Best Buy worker on the floor steered me to the Google Chromecast device. He told me it would allow me to accomplish what I wanted to do. Unfortunately, this was not the case. While it did allow wireless streaming of SOME media, it didn't work for every app on my iPhone, and specifically didn't appear to be able to stream any of my personal photos or videos, which was really what I wanted it for. So, I had to return it. Too bad; the price was definitely right!
