We expected ChromeCast to do more than it did and much more reliably. I can't even say I felt like we got what we paid for. When deciding on a device (we were between Apple TV and ChromeCast) we figured we would try the less expensive option ($35 vs $99) if it didn't work the way we wanted it could go back. Needless to say, it went back and was exchanged for the Apple TV which we absolutely LOVE! ChromeCast kept dropping the connection with our laptops, only worked to show you what was on the Google Chrome browser, had a beta version to mirror your computer's desktop that would lag, then freeze, then disconnect. It's a great concept, but the Apple device has all the bugs worked out already, ChromeCast doesn't.

You can use this little device to stream video from HBO, Showtime, Sports networks, YouTube and any other streamed content directly from a tablet or other device to your TV. Highly recommended.

Growing app list and does youtube the best. The plethora of google applications make this product worth the time. Good price compared to others.

A good friend of mine turned me onto this great find, I've been able to save a lot of money by discontinuing my cable and converting to the Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media player. We love it!!!!

We love google chromecast, it works great, you can pick a movie, show, or video from your computer, tablet or smartphone and play it on any tv you plug it into. It works exactly as described.

Chromecast is portable and connection is pretty straight forward. Absence of remote is a con. But it works on chrome browser on laptop with cast extension

I was really hesitant to but this because I didn't know if $35 was worth it. But I must say that this Chromecast is the best thing I have ever bought from Best Buy. Definitely worth every penny!

I was coming into Best Buy for an HDMI cable to hook my iPad up to my TV. The Best Buy rep started telling me about Chromecast. I had no idea what it could do for me but I am certainly glad he didn't just sell me what I asked for. This is the best thing I could've gotten. I got it primarily for Netflix but realized Foo Fighters LIVE clips from YouTube are definitely the way to go. I will never watch YouTube on my laptop again. The iPad/Chomecast combo is perfect.

When you have the chromecast you don't need to go buy a smart tv worth $500.00 plus you can link Netflix and YouTube and everything off your tablet or phone

You can send to your TV anything you can find on the internet using the Google Chrome search engine. When you download the software, a Chromcast button appears on the toolbar, and when clicked, it will then send everything on the laptop screen to the TV. Besides subscription services, you can go to the network sites and play the free episode broadcasts there. It will carry the same quality video and audio as the source sends, so you can get HD with surround sound if that's what your source sends. I don't know if it will pass thru a 3D telecast, as those are incredibly rare and I've not been able to try it. Also, I've only used it with my laptop. not a tablet or smart phone. In my case, the audio is generally flawless, but the video may hiccup occasionally. As the image on the laptop does not flicker, I presume this is due to the wifi link to the set. Also: You can plug the device into an HDMI port on your AV receiver instead of directly into the set, and this works the same and will then feed the sound thru your big audio system. Generally: It works as advertised and is worth the very low price

I have two of these Chromecast streaming media plug ins and I think they are terrific. With my IPad or IPad mini I can connect to Netflix, Vudo or many other services and it works really good.

Best purchase ever! I absolutely love my chromecast I don't know why I didn't purchase it sooner. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. It's also portable and extremely easy to use.

Very easy to use! Easy to use with any smart TV and with any wireless device! Make sure your WiFi is set up correctly to all your devices before using it but other then that, really cool!

I have been recommending to my friends and family- the ease of using my phone for everything, not having to even deal with my PS3 for most things is great!

Bought this for my 17 year old son and he loves it! He can watch all the programs that he use to watch on his computer on his TV. Set up was easy and it can be controlled from his smartphone.

This a great accessory for any TV that has a free HDMI port. I originally bought one for my daughter's TV to allow her to stream netflix and pandora. She loved it and I loved it too and had to get one for each TV in my house. Setup is simple and you will be up and running in about 5 mins. Only downside is it could use a few more apps but other than that it's a great buy.

While the product is good it needs to support a wider variety of programs and applications. My fear is that the competition is surpassing this product and it will not be supported properly in the future. The Netflix package is very limited.. The picture quality of those programs I use it to interface with is outstanding The durability of the product is very high quality.

I use this product all the time. I really love that I can control the chime set from almost anywhere in my home, especially in the next room. I control my sons Netflix shows from my room.

The Chromecast just made my adding hdtv a smart tv! I love the fact that I can cast hulu, vudu, Google play movies, all from my smartphone, computer, our tablet. For $35, you can't go wrong.
