The Chromecast is definitely the best living room media streaming device you can get for the price. The only con would be that it does not come with a remote, so it would not be a great choice for those without smartphones. Also, not a great choice for those with Windows phones, as the Chromecast app only works on Android and iPhone.

I haven't discovered all the tricks that you can do with this device, but for simple things like throwing up youtube videos to the big screen from your phone this thing is great. Beautiful screen saver pictures, plus lots of apps like Netflix and Pandora Downside, no Amazon prime app, thanks to Amazon pushing their own devices.

The price and ease of use once it is up and running can't be matched. I have a smart TV, but I got tired of using the remote control hopping between menus and typing via the on screen keyboard. Chromecast is a lot simpler and faster. With one click you get to where you want. Cons: It took a little effort to set it up, I had to play with my router settings to get it to work. Needs more apps

This worked great on an older TV with an HDMI port. It was a clean and elegant solution to our problem of providing Netflix and Hulu to an area of the house without a ethernet connection. Very discrete as it is hidden in the back of the TV. Wife loves it.

Simple to use. Plug into big screen's HDMI port. Plug USB cable into adapter. Initialize the program from any WIFI connected laptop. Install the Chrome Videostream app on your desktop. Now you can stream any AVI, MKV, MP4 movie you've downloaded to your harddrive directly to your TV. No longer a need to burn DVD's for your DVD player, nor copy movies to a thumb drive for a media player.

I use this at least once a day, some times more. Use it to stream You Tube videos on hobby machining, watercolor painting and other subjects. I use it to stream my Netflix shows instead of having to use a PS3, painless to use, don't have to update every other day using the PS3. Wounderful to stream Pandora to my home sound system. I use both an android phone and a tablet to control it.

This is a great little device. It is designed for those moments when you want to watch videos on your phone but want to share them on your TV. It's cool if you stream events (Metamoris BJJ for example) on your PC but want to watch it on a bigger TV with a group of friends. It's definitely worth the $26 I spent on Black Friday

Man this thing is AWESOME! If you don't have a smart TV, just put one of these bad boys in your hdmi port! You get access to hulu, netflix , and a bunch of other cool stuff. If you use Android you can send your screen to the tv on some phones. Also, If you have chrome web browser on your PC or MAC you can share your screen to the TV. Great for showing off your Facebook posts LOL!

Chromecast setup is easy and connects to wifi. It give step by step directions on establishing the wifi connection. All devices (windows/mac) are able to connect to Chromecast. Uses TV's HDMI's connection. Can watch movies, listen to music, and surf the web on the large TV screen. It is also very easy to travel with. Small size (similar to a large USB). I recommend to everyone.

I love how you can take this with you anywhere that you go. We took this with us to Las Vegas, plugged into TV and instantly we were able to watch Netflix, etc. Everyone in the house plugs it into their TV at least one time a week, it is just a great tool to have....love it! We use our smartphones to transmit it's usage and it never fails. Great job google, you've done good here!

Great way to enjoy Netflix by wirelessly casting from your mobile device to your TV. Was very easy to set up and to use. We even bought the product for our parents and they have had no problem using to cast as well. The product is such a great value that we have bought several for different televisions within the home. We use the product to cast primarily from Netflix or Youtube.

Generally, the device is simple to install and configure. All you need is wifi access to internet. The price is absolutely afforadable. I can mirror to TV from laptop, iphone, ipad, adndroid, and PC devices. It also works well with chrome browser. However, not all video format can mirror to TV. At home, I use real player to mirror personal videos and pictures. Recommend...... to buy it.

Honestly, I don't see why someone wouldn't get a Chromecast. They are trivial to get up and running: ours arrived at the house and was literally installed and working 13 minutes later. No matter if you use Android, iOS, a Mac, or a PC, Chromecast makes what was once annoying a easy as possible: taking something from your small screen and seeing it on your big screen. I find that I use Netflix far more now that I can find and cast programs from my phone, and sharing a quick video with the family from Youtube is fast and fun. My only (very minor) complaint is that few apps and services natively support the Chromecast at this time (August, '13). I expect the vibrant Android developer community to rectify that soon and can easily see the Chromecast as becoming the standard way to easily stream content on any television. Needless to say, I highly recommend this clever little device!

I was very excited to try out my Chromecast, so when it arrived I set it up immediately. The first time through, the setup didn't accept my wireless password. After a second try everything clicked. I installed the add-on for my desktop Chrome browser. I downloaded the app to my Asus tablet. After that I was off and running. Netflix and YouTube look great. Sometimes the picture is a little pixelated at first, but after a minute HD kicks in and all is well. No lag at all when mirroring my Chrome browser from my desktop. (I can finally watch normal Hulu on my TV!) I'm confused by users that say Chromecast doesn't work with iOS. I think it works BETTER with my wife's iPod touch than with my tablet. (However, if they're referring to setup I might agree. My bro had issues setting up through his iPad. Had to use a laptop to get it all working.) A great device for a reasonable price.

Great picture quality and great sound... 1080p and true surround sound. Very easy to fling Netflix or Youtube or any other videos from my Galaxy S5... couldn't be any easier. Hint: When you hook this up to your TV that also has a surround sound receiver, be sure to use an optical audio cable from your TV into your receiver... you'll then have a great picture with great sound.

It is very easy to set it up. You can easily stream Youtube, Netflix from pretty much any apple/android device. I liked the web browsing feature. Even though there is some delay with casting the browser content to TV, it is good enough for the price it is being offered. Quality of the device and picture are both good

Easy to setup and use from my phone or tablets, I have 4, 1 in each TV really cool option, and to use Google Chrome from laptop I can mirror anything, can't wait until update cones out to do it from phone, but now good enough, Netflix, YouTube and Hbogo are main things I use and it works title that, waiting for showtime app

This is a great product. The movie quality is great streams the movies and shows with very little to no interruption. It is so easy to use it just about plug and play. Would highly recommend it to a friend. I will be buying more for the other tv's that I have so I don't have to move it around the house to enjoy it. Thanks Best Buy for the great product at a good price.

I purchased this as a stand-by for the WD-Live (the WD-Live tends to be very fussy). I can say that it meets my expectations on why I purchased it (streaming media from a server using Plex). It has consistently played every streamed media file I threw at it (.avi, mkv, mp4...) with no issues. I will note that it took a bit to get everything working together. The Chromecast itself is over-the-top simplistic. It was a bit frightening at first when I realized just how limited the Chromecast and its mobile app is. The device counts exclusively on third-party applications to stream to the device and the list of third-party applications are rather limited right now. Again, it does what I purchased it for rather nicely. I'd suggest you do your research prior to buying it though because this item really isn't comparable to a WD-Live or Roku when it comes to function.

Chromecast is very easy to set up and will be streaming in minutes. The only issues I've experienced are related to the apps controlling the streaming program, where the control buttons will randomly disappear. For the price, this is a great buy.
