Chromecast is a solid buy and viable option for those thinking of Apple TV, ROKU or other streaming devices. The quality of the stream on my HD-Set (especially NetFlix) is almost like watching a Blu Ray (once buffering is over - which becomes less of an issue as more people have high speed internet). You can stream anything on your Mac or PC via the Chrome browser - yet some embedded video is better than others. Quicktime is not there yet but for most other uses, its great. But the real deal is telling your TV via your Chromecast device and your Smartphone - what movies and tv shows to watch. It is effortless and for bingewatchers, it remembers where you left off on Breaking Bad or House of Cards ;) If you were planning on spending the money on Apple TV, you should give Chromecast some serious consideration. At $35 it is a solid buy. I enjoy it.

Very easy to install, but a little bit of work to set up. It had trouble recognizing our devices and had to try multiple times, but once they were recognized it was snap. Wish it came with better directions for set up as we had to Google some How To Video's to figure it out. After that it has been easy to use.

For the most part really easy to use and performs as it should. Better to dedicate it to its own TV, we have three of them, as they don't transfer as easily as they do the first time. A bit sticky with live TV but excellent with Netflix, Youtube and anything downloaded. Love not having to pay for cable!!

Bought this to go along with a new Smart TV we purchased at Christmas time. We were watching TV shows and videos online but, boy, what a difference with Chromecast! Sharp, clear picture and excellent sound. Have used it to view our photos from our vacation last year on the TV and they look great. Would recommend this to anyone with a Smart TV. Can't beat the price.

I really enjoy using my Chromecast - the wallpaper photos on it are gorgeous and I use it heavily to stream from my laptop, which works better than the miracast in my tv ... which is a shame, since I spent so much on the tv to have that feature. Regardless, for the price, you can't go wrong with a Chromecast.

I use my Chromecast daily. I got rid of cable a few years ago, and can't pick up over the air TV, so Netflix has long been my go-to-tv option. While I've always been able to get it on the TV somehow (Wii, HDMI through computer, DVD player, etc.), my Chromecast is so simple it is as easy as watching cable. I turn the TV on, open Netflix on my phone, and away we go. I've used it for other things to - showing photos to the family, tv shows from other sites, etc., but Netflix is 99% of the usage. Of course, I'd love to be able to watch Amazon Prime on there too (thus dramatically increasing the amount of time spent watching Prime videos), but it's not an option currently (come on Amazon!). Chromecast is the best streaming TV option for its price (in my opinion) and I am regularly giving it away as gifts. Highly recommend!

After I used this product once, I was hooked. I enjoy to stream videos and such. This year I streamed the Super Bowl to my TV. If you have a nice TV you pretty much need to have this. Before this I would use an HDMI cable. This however allows me to stream from my phone or laptop while still surfing the web.

Chromecast was easy to install, with app for Android, iOS, and extension for Windows Chrome browser. Connected without issue from both OS's and displays tablet or desktop displays. Windows interface much cleaner, as it displays ANY browser content. Android 4.4.2 Chrome App only offers Chromecast icon in browser for certain pages, which limits utility somewhat.

I don't know what took me so long to get this. My bro recommended this a while ago. I already have a roku and thought this would be unnecessary but I saw this as an open box and couldn't resist. I have no regrets. I was super easy to set up and streams quite while with a hiccup or two here and there.

This is the third Chromecast I've added to my household. They are so simple to setup and use. Plug it into your TV & power, download the app, follow the instructions and within just a few minutes, you're ready to begin casting (streaming) content. There are also game apps that can be used with Chromecast. Love my Chromecasts. Hard to beat the price, too.

Chromecast is easy to setup and makes it simple to view on your TV the screen that is on your tablet or laptop. Easily moves from one to TV to another. A plus is the various apps that can stream from the device. Last but not the least of its feature is its low price. Great for someone without a smart TV.

I purchased 2 chromexasts as gifts for Christmas. I purchased my own last Christmas and have no complaints. Easily can play Netflix, pandora, Google play, YouTube...or whatever you want on any tv in the house. More than anything I use it to play music on the surround sound. You will not be disappointed! All you need is a wifi connection and you're good to go.

The Google Chromecast is a pretty affordable device that will stream or broadcast videos as well as music from a compatible app or web browser. Either using a mobile iOS or Android device, you can stream content from said devices to your TV, provided you are streaming from an app supported by Chromecast. You can also stream content from the Chrome web browser and even share you entire desktop using a beta app for Chrome, but compare to the like of the Roku 3 or WD TV Play this device is limited. While it is cool to stream Pandora or Youtube from your mobile device or even computer, there are plenty of other options that do the same thing and so much more albeit they are a little more expensive.

Great for those who love Netflix! I stream Netflix and Youtube all the time to my TV's from my phone and have purchased these for all my TV's. They are small and easy to use and really cool for those who travel and stay in hotels even by simply hooking up to the back of the TV in the HDMI port to allow you to watch movies and/or shows away from home!

I recently bought a new TV for my self, and didn't want to spend a ton of money, but still wanted to have similar features to a smart TV. After finding a TV I liked, I started looking into media devices to add to it. I landed on this one. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and is simple to troubleshoot.

Chromecast is a great way to start cutting the cord, or to supplement it. Ease of use with many services make it very useble. Moving the chromcast is as easy as unplugging it, but why when they are soooooooooo cheap. Wish it had an Ethernet port. WiFi at my house is not great, but it still works fine.

At first I was skeptical about this purchase, but I was proved wrong. The set up was easy and fast. I recommend this for anyone who doesn't have a smart tv or a game console. It makes any plain tv come to life . You can watch netflix, Hulu , YouTube and vudu, just to name a few . It also comes with exclusive offers with your purchase. That you will love.

Absolutely love it. It is one of the best and cheap streaming device you could buy. Streaming is a breeze from chrome browser and also with standalone supported apps. It is a no brainer for the price. Fits nicely into your TV and my TV came with a USB port and I used that usb port to power my chromecast. All of my friends have and they love it too.
