Love this streaming device

Since she can cast right from the laptop she is able to watch all of the on demand cable shows on her TV using our family cable account. Not to mention being able to use the apps such as Netflix, Hulu, and HBOGO. I hope more companies make approved apps for the chromecast.

The setup process is extremely simple and easy, so you can have your ChromeCast up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. The main function of it is to cast app-based video content to an HDTV (Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc), as well as mobile device whole-screen casting for pictures. But Google also has a Beta version out that allows browser casting from your Chrome browser. I highly recommend this product!

No complaints. It will even throw to another room from my computer. The price is great for a wi-fi unit this small and unobtrusive. I am optimistic Google will have more sites compatible with it soon. For $35 bucks, it's nice to have on hand.

Easy to set up - works beautifully

I am very non-techie - but I was able to get this up and running in less than 5 minutes using the online guide. YouTube videos occasionally stall for some reason, but I was able to tab-cast full episodes from PBS video without any problems. The picture is crystal clear on my TV. And using my laptop, I can browse other sites while I watch. The quality is amazing for the price.

Excellent alternative to cable

We started with a Boxee, then went to a Roku, and now we use the Chromecast. This experience has blown the other two away. It's easy to use, and you can stream local content through the Chrome browser!
