exceptionally easy to setup and use, casting = multi-device functionality, bought two more for parents and siblings!

So many applications for Chromecast. I have bought multiple for myself and multiple as gifts. Ease of setup and use.

We use the Chromecast to watch movies with the Showbox App and to see anything we record on our phones it's awesome!

Product works great. Easy to set up but you need to look up online on all the different specs of using the product

First, buying from Bestbuy was cheaper than Google Play (free shipping). But the digital download for 3 months of Netflix has not worked for me. The device setup is easy from a computer on your wireless network. I used my laptop. You need to download an app to connect and do the discovery which is fairly easy. You will need to use Chrome browser and add-on the casting app. The problems I had were around two things. First, I needed to connect to the TV HDMI port. I have a HDMI switch connecting my ATV, TiVo, and Xbox 360, and the signal seems to drop, so I had to use a port on the TV itself. a bit of a pain to get to in my setup. Second, I needed to add power to the Chromecast as the HDMI port was not powered. This meant stringing a new extension cord to the TV. I am annoyed a little bit by having a lag in video between the laptop and the TV display. You cast from the browser, so for some Flash videos you get the laptop view and the TV view which is delayed. I can't cast my local video files from the browser by doing a file:///myvids/vid thing, so that is a bummer. So it does have limits, but is an interesting dongle to play with.

Best product for streaming at a low price without buying high tech equipment

The device is good for streaming. I wish the mirror function would work better though

Pros: -cast to TV with HDMI port (YouTube, Netflix, ...) Cons: -does not seem to work from iPad Netflix version ...

This is the second Chromecast that I have purchased and have recommended them to my family who have also bought them. We all love them. Super easy to install and use. Turns my fairly expensive LED TV into a smart TV that would have cost me another$300 for only $35!! I use this just about everyday to easily stream Hulu.

Does exactly what it's supposed to, streams videos and web pages from your laptop or mobile device straight to your tv.

We use this at home and at the cabin, get to watch anything we like streaming from our phone to our big screens.

This thing works right out of the box. How cool. Don't have a "smart TV"? You do now!!!! Easy to use and set up.

It's very easy to use. Now, I can watch youtube and netflix on a big screen from my laptop and smartphone. Love it!

Google - Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player is a great investment. Easy to install. Just plug into HDMI and go

The product works well and has a very nice picture for streaming. I do not see any picture loss on my 60" when streaming other than when it is trying to buffer. Obviously a direct cord connenction is still a better picture quality. We wanted to easily cast things to the TV from the web. Google says that with the Chrome Browser it's no problem, NOT THE CASE! We have iPhones and iPads in my house and you can not cast from them with the Chrome Browser. Casting apps is no problem but not the web. My laptop will cast the web from the Chrome Browser. So if you want to watch web videos not in an app on your TV with an Apple device I suggest you find a different product. There are a few aftermarket apps that work with Chromecast to help you use an Apple device but it is not near as simple as how the rest of Chromecast works. This could have been a great product if it supported Apple devices using the Chrome Browser.
