Great tool for streaming at this price

Since its just a USB dongle, it's portable and I can carry I with me and use it at friends house. However, until it gets support for apps like hbogo, etc it won't offer the compete picture as an Apple TV or roku does

Great for watching Netflix
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Chromecast after the quality of my Blu-ray player's Netflix streaming became unwatchable. With WiFi, Netflix initially streamed at HD resolution. Recently, the player started playing Netflix at a low resolution with a lot of buffering pauses. My laptop, PC, and smartphone still stream Netflix perfectly in HD in the same room in proximity to the Blu-ray player via WiFi. The Good The Chromecast is inexpensive, easy to setup, has an excellent picture, shows Closed Captions (when available) and outputs 5.1 sound. The Bad I use my smartphone to control my Chromecast. If my smartphone Auto-Locks and I unlock it, the Chromecast stops responding to the smartphone. It will respond after I close the Netflix app and restart it. I have to leave my phone's Auto-Lock feature off while using the Chromecast, and remember to turn it back on. Chromecast also needs more apps.

Also is Netflix enabled. The only thing this device needs/I wish it had is the ability to use as an extended monitor. Over great device for the price. Can't beat it.
