Not only for enhancing regular HDTVs, but it expanded the capabilities of my smart TV so that I can watch or listen to any content from my smartphone by casting; Movies, music, TV shows, pictures, Kindle books (even audiobooks!). Some of the best $ I have ever spent. Couldn't be happier with the purchase!

Technical issues stopping my enthusiasm

Despite the fact that we have working wifi in our home, the Chromecast couldn't connect with it. Our plan is to go back to Best Buy and ask for advice but we've held off on the theory that they'd be crazy busy during the Christmas season.
