This is a good purchase and a good item to have if you have a android phone or tablet. It is small and can be moved throughout your home with ease. It is so low priced that you can buy more than one. Anybody with the app can cast to your TV so friends can share as well.

I have both this item and a Roku 3. This item is reliable and works well for casting media from a web browser. For media that is available via a Roku channel, I prefer the Roku. While the Chromecast works well, the video playback isn't so smooth at times. Given the price and the flexibility of the Chomecast, I would still highly recommend it.

This product works very well for what it does and it is priced very attractively. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to stream just anything from your computer. It has to be one of the services it supports, Youtube for example.

Chrome Cast is a brilliant addition to my smart tv and hd tv. I can watch Netflix, home movies, listen to music and make it movie night all from my phone or tablet. I've got bluray discs that have yet to see the inside of my player. Thanks to the digital copy. Internet shows like WB seed episodes and even YouTube all to my tv. You can't beat this. Get one or two for your home or even as a gift.

I am using chromecast for a month now and using Mac Chrome, iPad Chrome, and Android phone to cast videos mostly from Youtube or Netflix. I have also used it to stream music from my mac air using soundcast. And while idle, chromecast can play slideshow of photos from your google photos. Definitely worth the price.

This product is awesome. For this price you can't get like this. Recommended to buy.

I have two chromecasts, one in my bedroom tv and one in living room. This is the most used device in my house. I cast all the YouTube videos and the videos from my browser to tv's all the time. No more small screens, I now watch videos only in my 60 inch. Also google keeps giving free movies, free site memberships etc every month, so always check out chrome cast offers to see what you are getting.

I purchased this to add streaming to a new TV (in the bedroom) with an HDMI port so I could move a Roku back to an older TV without HDMI capabilities. In comparison to the Roku (and we just have the base model of that), it was very slow. Programs took a long time to load and it was not what I was expecting from that perspective (and my internet connection could be slower than what is needed, don't know). What led me to return it, however, was that I didn't realize I needed to have the "remote control" (an iPhone/iPad/etc.) with me all the time to operate it. Totally my lack of knowledge - the size of the box should have clued me in! - but those devices generally don't make their way upstairs in our house (you need to unplug at some point) and so that wasn't an option I was interested in. If you don't mind that and perhaps have a faster internet connection, it's probably a great device, but without knowing those two, I marked it as not recommended.

I use it everyday to cast youtube videos. Must have streaming player for everyday use.

this is very easy to set up. stream 720p a bit slow, but ok.
